Dr Kevin Shah is a fine cataract surgeon. However, if you have questions or concerns regarding the outcome of your surgery, be forewarned that he will not answer your questions. Instead, he will take it highly personally, and offer no support or suggestions. He will complain about how many surgeries they scheduled the day before and how now he has to see all of us for a follow up. He'll rush you through your valid concerns and only tell you he "takes pride in his work". He'll make it about him. However, even after thinking you've come to an understanding and will move forward with the second surgery because you've also researched things yourself and think it will be fine, he will decide later to cancel that surgery leaving you high and dry with mismatched eyes. This also makes you have to do everything all over again with a separate practice. I am not the only person he has done this to. If you are 100% confident that your eyes will react splendidly to surgery, sure see this guy. Otherwise, save yourself a ton of time, vacation days from work, money, and an insane amount of stress and go elsewhere. If you have anxiety or worry that results in questions and concerns, go elsewhere. Also, go elsewhere is your time is important to you. This office is insanely busy and wait time can be an hour. I recommend Dr. Weed at Fava & Maria. He's a lovely man with suggestions to help and no pesky ego getting in the way.
Have continuing visits for an eye problem. They worked me into schedule, which they are always extremely "busy". Full lobby every time I visit. Sometimes I am called on time, sometimes called an hour late. Hit and miss. Staff seems rushed due to overwhelming patient demand, need larger facility with bigger staff it seems. Difficult to engage with Doctor for questions and choices because of this. Staff is polite and knowledgeable and correctly identified my problem and we are working on a plan of treatment following each visit. Kudos to that. Haven't gotten around to looking for new glasses yet, but seems like they have a small and limited frame selection available compared to local eye places. Convenient location, however, parking is very limited with no real options for parking elsewhere, this is a problem. Again, they are in need of a larger facility, more parking, larger staff, and I believe the place would be better for it.
I got a piece of wood (saw dust) in my eye while cutting some lumber. It was bothering we for several hours. I was recommended to give Eye Consultants a call. They were able to work me in their schedule right away. I had to fill out three pages of paperwork, but within 10 minutes, they called me back. A nurse went over my current sight. Then I went into the exam room and waited for the eye doctor. Doctor Marion did an awesome job. He was able to spot the debris right away. After dropping in some numbing meds, he got the splinted of wood out. It was embedded in my eye. Great customer service and fair price. I will recommend to anyone for this service!
I when for a eye appointment was told to fill out new paperwork and that I had a co-pay I said that can you guys bill me and I was told no that you have to come back when u get paid I thought that was so nice that I will be finding a Doctor that cares the the people that come and see them not the co-pay
For a Neurological Eye Dr I would think they would be a little more careful with the patients. My husband has short term memory loss and a drop foot so he looses his balance and wears a brace to help his foot lift.
I asked to go in with him so that I can get the results and see his responses . They not only would not let me in they sent him out after, on his own when I even said he looses his balance before hand .
I have been his caretaker from the instant he was injured so I keep track of everything . This was the first time I was not allowed.
I also watched an elderly lady go in with ( I assume) her friend/caretaker.
I am sincerely disappointed in this location .
Sadly we are at their mercy because he needs these appointments and cannot just go to a regular optometrist. We drove and hour and half for this appointment.
I mentioned it one more time and they said that they will ensure that it is put in his file . Something I had tried to verbally tell the staff but was met with an OK but they still let him wonder out unassisted .
Daniela is a knowledgeable ophthalmic assistant. You're safe in her hands and she's professional, friendly and kind. She was actually the reason for me to come and see Dr Shah and he is exceedingly knowledgeable ,very friendly, easy to talk to I'll tell you, you will feel so great after you see him and come out of that doctor's office.Thank you guys for your service.
Briann and the whole team are AMAZING! My husband had an "eye emergency". Briann was calm the whole time, getting his information and registered and in to see a doctor. The whole team was very thorough, polite, professional, and went out of their way to diagnose and treat. Highly recommend Eye Consultants of PA. Thank you!!
I always get my kids glasses here they are very good . I'll take their prescription and card insurance they do the rest !!!
