I woke up with a horrific pain in my left eye. Blinking even brought me to tears. My eye was blood shot and swollen shut. Frantic to find somewhere to be seen, I called Rising Sun Eye. They told me to come right in. Mind you, I wasnt even a patient there and they squeezed me in anyway. Everyone was professional beyond words. The Dr took his time , examined me, and explained i had a corneal abrasion. He sent in a script with a check up visit in the AM. I have nothing but praise for this office. I would definitely recommend to anyone!
First time at this practice. Eye doctor was great. Really took his time explaining and making sure I was getting the proper prescription as it changed in 2 years. Moving to getting glasses was next where Gina helped me pick what I described to her I wanted. Went as far as ordering me two different frames that I asked about that they didn't have. Never felt rushed or pressured. Less than a week later I picked a pair of frames she ordered for me. The prescription is perfect. The staff otherwise was helpful and friendly.
Everyone was very kind today! I wasn't sure what to expect after reading reviews but i was pleasantly surprised.. The eye doctor, the gentleman that did the peripheral test (Although I wasn't aware until leaving that I'd need to pay out of pocket for it.) Along with the lady that was trying to help me pick out frames were all very helpful and friendly.
I was just in earlier today, the dude that did my eye exam was as nice as can be, as for the rest of the staff they were all very rude toned with me. I would ask questions about glasses and would get interrupted, it all felt very ignorant as i feel like the only goal was to get me to spend more money. Would not recommend coming here.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely horrible place. Staff is rude. Got fitted for contacts, kept telling them they were irritating my eyes, I absolutely hated contacts and this is the first time I have worn them. Had to keep going back, staff was down right ignorant to me when I kept calling telling them about the contacts. That was last year I went here. Messed up my daughters and husband's glasses. I now went to Walmart to find out they had me the totally wrong prescription for my glasses and contacts! Walmart now has given me contacts that are the correct ones and I love them! I definitely don't recommend anybody going to rising sun!
I have only been here once & I have mixed feelings about my experience .
The eye doctor was great. He had a great bedside manner, he was prompt & efficient.
I got an eye exam & a pair of prescription glasses & a pair of sunglasses.
I've had glasses for over 30 years & I've always looked & tried on multitudes of frames before deciding. However, here I was instructed to sit while the employee put 4 or 5 frames in front of me to try on. I directly asked "am I not allowed to look around myself" she responded that these were in the price range my insurance would cover" ok, I thought this was strange..I've always had to pay when getting glasses because my insurance never covers it all. But whatever, I chose my glasses & sunglasses. Which arrived very quick..not even a week. I get a call early one morning stating my glasses were ready. I told them I'd wait until my sunglasses were ready as well & just make 1 trip. They called again same day late afternoon, my sunglasses are now ready. Great, I'll be in tomorrow to pick them up. So when I get there they tell me only my sunglasses were ready, not my glasses. I explained how weird that was as I got 2 phone calls & the first call said my glasses were there first. After some back & forth & checking with another employee they were indeed both there. So yeah, I have no terrible things to report but I don't prefer their method of choosing a few frames for clients to choose from assuming they can't or don't want to pay what insurance doesn't cover. So basically the eye doctor is super great 10 stars for that dude.. everything else was just.so ...weird & nothing like I've experienced at any other optometrists office.
Update: Office Manager reached out, apologized and refunded my copay. Kudos to her for making things right!!
I had an eye problem checked out on the same day I picked up new glasses. The doctor said I could cancel the follow up appointment if the eye problem resolved. It did, but I had a major problem with my glasses so didn't cancel the appointment, as I knew this problem needed addressed. The doctor asked what I was there for, and I told him that my glasses were terrible, but the eye issue from last week was completely resolved. He checked out my glasses and it turned out the lab made them completely wrong, it wasn't even my prescription. Once this was addressed, he did look at my eye, almost as an afterthought, since the true issue was the error in my glasses. As I stated, the eye was fine and this literally took 5 seconds. Upon checking out, I asked if I would need to pay the co-pay since the reason I came in was due to my glasses being wrong. I was advised that since the appointment had a 'medical' aspect, or something similar, that I would be charged the $45 co-pay. I feel I was charged a fee when I shouldn't have been (if my glasses weren't wrong, I wouldn't even be there)I understand I could have called but I would have had to come in either way, since they messed up my glasses, which wasn't my fault. This was extremely poor, unfair customer service. Once I pick up my corrected glasses I won't return.
I went here when there was a man and lady Dr.. I wore Activue 2 contacts for almost 30 years and had absolutely no issues, the only reason I was looking for a new eye doctor was because mine retired, any way the first thing out of the Dr mouth was Activue 2 contacts are being discontinued, you must wear the oasis ones, I believed them and tried to wear the oasis, but they were horrible and irritated my eyes and I was always changing them, so the next time I went surprise there was a new doctor!! I told him my issues with these contacts and they insisted I wear these oasis because Activue 2 is being discontinued.. I called 1 800 Contacts they lied to me Activue 2 are not being discontinued.. asked them for a prescription for them , but they refused and wanted me to come back..mean while there is a lady named Lori that was so rude and unprofessional yelled at my husband so I went to see a new eye doctor to find out I was allergic to the material the contacts are made out of and that this is a well known thing and that Activue 2 are no going out because that is what people like me can't wear Oasis.. suffered for over 2 years and repeatly told them and they insisted that I wear these horrible contacts..Run don't go here they lie to you and I asked them if they get a kick back from selling Oasis and they never denied it!! They made me suffer for profit and I am happy I have a honest and knowledgeable eye doctor now , that knew immediately what was wrong with my contacts!! Run from this place they don't care about you, just your money..
