Great experience. Everyone was so helpful and extremely nice. My husband is very picky and he loved them. Dr templin was great very knowledgeable. The girl who helped us pick out our glasses was phenomenal. Will definitely be going back and recommending.
After reading other reviews, I decided to chime in as I too had a similar experience with the doctor being rude and delivering poor customer service. My visit wasn't recent, but the one and only time I went will be just that, the one and only visit I will ever have here. I hadn't offered a review until now because I thought my experience was related to other issues the doctor had (which may or may not be the case), but I believe the unwelcoming attitude I received was because I wasn't going to order my prescription from them, as is the experience I have read from others.
My wife had a very different experience, but she also purchased her glasses from them, I on the other hand was forthcoming about my plans to order elsewhere. During the entire examination the doctor barely spoke to me, and any questions I had was met with an attitude of annoyance and brevity. I understand that when patients purchase their prescriptions directly from them it gives them extra money, but it's not like I received a service for free.
Again, after reading other reviews, I am convinced the reason for my cold reception was due to me not giving them more money by ordering my glasses from them, which would allow for a lot of assumptions to be made about their priorities. To the doctor's credit, and why I'm giving 2 stars, she was very knowledgeable and thorough, just not very friendly to me.
I had a very disappointing experience with Templin Eye Care. I requested a copy of my contact lens prescription so I could order my lenses elsewhere ( I am still within my yearly prescription). Not only did they make it unnecessarily difficult to get a copy, but the receptionist was so rude-all because I want to shop around. I have every right to get my contacts wherever I choose, and the pushback I received was unprofessional and frustrating. It felt like they cared more about making a sale and being difficult than about patient care. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who values transparency and respectful service.
I can't say enough for temple eye care on Myerstown. The doctor diagnose me and got me to a specialist right away years ago. I've been going back to her ever since I get nothing but the best service. The people are nice and everything. My son goes there and we don't plan on going any place else we get the best Service ever glasses are and before they are supposed to be And I think they are the best around
So we have been going to Dr. Templin for many years. She is a very good eye doctor. Today my husband went in for an eye exam. Dr. Templin was very friendly & talkative. When my husband's exam was over he had asked for his prescription. She did a complete turnaround. Was very cold towards him. Just because he wasn't ordering glasses from her. So unprofessional & rude. Needless to say we will never go back. I also had a similar incident with her just because I didn't have a diabetic exam she got very cold to me also. That's not how you treat your patients or run a service. In today's world people are struggling with finances....whether it's food, utilities, gas prices, etc. Everyone is budgeting. And this business or any business should recognize that. People can't afford $300-$400 for frames. Apparently this isn't recognized by Dr. Templin.
Terrible customer service, 2 hours for an eye examination is absurd, took 10 days to contact me about a problem with my order , then when asked why it took so long office manager Todd hung up on me. They think I went through a 2 hour exam, picked frames and lenses to stick them with my glasses without paying in full so they didn't order them.
The voice mail Jaime left me was quite condescending and apparently I'm a deadbeat customer In their opinion. Yep, I love making Dr appointments and wasting my time and money, ordering things to stick it to the provider. You people are ridiculous if you believe yourselves that this was my intention. I will gladly advise anyone to stay far away. Get over yourselves. And again, thanks for nothing and I hope someone treats you like a deadbeat customer and see if you like it. Total waste of my time dealing with Templin.
Update: Called Templin and asked if I could drop by after work to pick up my contacts prescription. I was told they would have it printed and I would need to sign paperwork. Once at the office the receptionists said I could only order the contacts that the optometrist has prescribed. I provided the names of the two brands I wanted to order. After going back and forth I was told that they will discuss with the optometrist and see if she will write a new prescription. That was on Monday. It is Thursday now. I ordered contacts via 800 Contacts and when they contacted Templin they were unable to obtain an approval. I ordered through CVS contacts and they weren't able to obtain an approval either.
I will need to get my eyes rechecked from another optometrist and then order my contacts like I have for years.
Worst experience ever with an optometrist in all my life. Waste of insurance and the $90 I paid. Zero stars. Would never recommend.
During my eye exam experience at Templin Eye Care three weeks ago, I was initially pleased to discover that they offered weekend hours, which accommodated my busy work schedule. My main objective was to have an exam that would allow me to conveniently order contacts online as I have always done. However, I was surprised to find that I ended up paying $90 not only for the eye exam but also for a second comprehensive exam due to my diabetes. Despite informing the optometrist that I did not require the additional exam, she insisted on it. As expected, the exam revealed no issues with my eyes related to my diabetes. When I requested my prescription, I was informed that I needed to wait until my RX was finalized since I had received a trial pair of contacts. Although I paid for the services and left, I later had to call to inquire about my prescription. Unfortunately, I was told that I would receive a call back on Monday. Eventually, I did receive the call, but I was disappointed to find out that they were ready to take my order without providing a copy of my prescription. They explained that I would need to visit the office in person due to government requirements. Regrettably, my busy schedule has prevented me from making the visit. I must admit that I have never encountered a provider who was unwilling to provide a patient with their prescription, which has left me feeling frustrated and inconvenienced.
DR Templin and her staff are wonderful....I get excellent eye care.....however...I have ordered glasses here several times.....unfortunately I seem to get the same optician, kim smith, every time and I will no longer get glasses here because of her unprofessionalism. This morning she worked with me with her half eaten breakfast on her work station, never informed me of the options available, never takes any measurements, just enters info in the computer and spits out a price, no explanations! Highly recommend DR Templin.....HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere for glasses!
