Spring House Eye Associates

I have been a patient at Spring House Eye Associates for about six years. Dr. Marcus Devlin is not only highly professional and skilled, he is also very caring. I appreciate how he explains my condition and goes above and beyond to ensure my comfort and vision health. The office atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff clearly works as a team to meet the needs of patients. I highly recommend this practice.

I've been a loyal customer of Spring House Eye for many years. Today, I encountered a situation that left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. When my husband and I visited the front desk, we were met by an associate with short white hair who unfortunately, spoke to us in a tone that I found unprofessional. She quoted us two very different prices for contacts, and when we asked for clarification, her response was abrupt and not very clear and she seemed disheveled. She acted as though we were in the wrong when she provided two different prices to us. We also learned that we had a past-due balance, which was pointed out to us in a manner that felt somewhat embarrassing, very loud and unprofessional the whole practice could hear. When I asked her to just bill me she then screamed "Excuse me, are you going to pay????" Extremely Unprofessional. Most concerning was the way my husband was treated. I wonder if in fact my husbands race may have played a role in how we were treated. Regardless of intent, the interaction left us both feeling disrespected and singled out. It's important that front desk staff are able to handle these situations with patience and professionalism, especially as they are the first point of contact for patients.

The Doctors here are very good. I have seen maybe 3 different doctors over the years and I am always impressed, never been disappointed. However my last experience with the front office and how the front office is handling it, is not up to par. My appointment was going really well, from check in all the way to seeing the Dr. as I've come to expect. I opted to re-fill my contacts since I didn't have enough time to shop for a pair of glasses. The lady at the front desk who was checking me out quoted a price of $75 for 3month of contacts, I decided to get 6 months worth, at this point the price more than tripled, I sought clarity but the lady seemed to be getting agitated. I was with my wife and 7yr old son (who had to leave school because his lenses order from July was incorrect at the August pickup, and we didn't receive any notification about it being ready for fitting till we called last week to inquire). My wife (a lifetime patient) did not appreciate the situation and wanted to conclude the transaction as I walked away with my son. After a brief back and forth my wife opted not to buy the contacts from here but pay for my contacts eye exam. The lady then introduced a past due balance from July (news to us, since there were no texts, emails or mail) into the conversation, which my wife objected since my wife had been there between July and now with no mention. Maybe some clarity would have helped but that's not what we received. With that said, the bill from July has been settled. I assumed this was water under the bridge. I find it unacceptable to have conversations I had with a service provider in the privacy of your offices being used to support your argument on Google and in doing so disclosing my nationality/origin. I am a private citizen, you are a business governed by HIPAA laws. After you responded to my wife's review on google, you proceeded to get my information from your files to email us (both) your Google response. Is this really about past due (which is currently paid)? Why couldn't someone use their time resourcefully to contact us when you received my sons correct lenses weeks ago, since that would have been a better customer interaction.

Doctors and office staff are very nice. Appointments always start on time, we appreciate not having a long wait.

My family is new to this practice. Had our first appt today. From the moment I stepped up to front desk to the moment our visits were complete, the level of professionalism and care taken were top notch. We were welcomed to the practice by Melissa, who is a rock star! She went over our medical and family history and answered any questions. We then met Dr Devlin who was so thorough and detailed in his care. We had several questions and he took the time to make sure he addressed our concerns. I highly recommend this practice!

I've been getting routine eye exams from Dr Devlin at the Glenside office for years and never had an issue. I'm considering switching from Carty Eyes associates for my Glaucoma treatment. However most of the reviews from the past year have been very negative and the ones from 2 years ago and longer have been very positive. Has something happened with the practice in the past year to cause all of these bad reviews?

Springhouse eye was recommended by co-workers and they are absolutely wonderful!!! The staff is so kind and friendly and happy to assist you to have the best experience possible. They gave me their honest opinions when choosing a glass frame which I appreciate and I got a sharp pair of frames. I didn't have to wait to see the doctor and he was patient with me and took his time so I could get the best vision possible. My old eye doctors office were rude and you were herded in like cattle so they could make as much money as possible. I highly recommend this practice, you will not be disappointed with their service. And the over all price for services, glasses and contacts was much cheaper than my old doctor.

Dr. Devlin is a Rockstar. I enjoyed my eye exam. As well as his passion for the eye. Very happy with his care. Office staff was wonderful as well.
