My experience at Chester County Eye Care ( Dr. Patricia Dickey) was great! Friendly, professional and able to take care of my issue in a timely manner! All good! Staff was also excellent!
I would recommend this practice and Dr. Dickey to my family and friends. They were the best!!
Everyone in the office is helpful and nice. I was originally seen for an eye emergency and they got me in same day. Dr. Marek is extremely knowledgeable and takes her time to explain everything to you. She makes sure you know all your options. I am so happy that I found this practice. I feel like my eye health is in good hands.
I had an awful experience with doctor DeStefano and his staff. They completely dropped the ball when it comes to communication. I was all ready for my surgery, and waited all weekend for a call to let me know what time my surgery was on Monday. I never received a call. Monday at 8:15 am I finally got someone in the surgical dept to answer the phone. They said my surgery was cancelled, but no one bothered to let me know. I and my daughter were sitting since 6:00am dressed waiting to find out what time to be there. To me this office and staff, and the doctor just care about the money and not the patient. It was not easy to talk to the doctor either. He was in and out of the office so fast. The whole experience was awful!
STAY AWAY unless you want to deal with headache after headache. Apologies for the LONG review, but this is what I have dealt with in the last two months.
I saw one of the doctors on November 4th, and they prescribed me multifocal lenses (which I had never worn before). The doctor mentioned that we might need to tweak the prescription if I had issues. I wrote about a week later, saying I was having problems and needed to try another strength. So, the doctor gave me trial lenses at a new prescription strength. They worked. I wrote back to the office and let everyone know that the new prescription was what I needed, and those were the trial lenses I was supposed to get. Then I also asked that my prescription be updated in Opal (the system they use for ordering contact lenses). Someone wrote back that they would let me know when that was done.
I waited about a week and a half without hearing back from anyone, and then I messaged to ask what was happening because I was out of trial lenses and Opal still listed the incorrect prescription. I was told that it wasn't clear what the holdup was, but I would get more trial lenses. I came to pick up those trial lenses only to find that a tech had them in her car at another office. So, I came back after Thanksgiving and picked up the lenses, thinking they were the correct prescription. They were not.
After wearing them for a few days I realized I was really struggling with far distances and getting headaches. I looked at the prescription on the trial lens boxes and realized that the office gave me the wrong prescription. I wrote the practice about this issue and asked if I could exchange the lenses for the correct ones. Someone got back to me and apologized and said I could stop by the office to pick them up. I went to pick them up and guess what?!?! The office was closed for a training...even though I had asked about coming on that particular day to pick up the lenses.
I finally got the lenses, and the office did order me 2 more boxes of the correct lenses. This was a nice gesture, but seriously, I would rather have just had the "normal" amount of trial lenses and not have had all these issues.
Besides the contact lens issue, I am also struggling with a billing issue. I am still waiting to be reimbursed $85 after being charged incorrectly for a contact lens fitting. I won't go into all of the details about this struggle (I've already written enough), but I will tell you one thing that puts the icing on the cake to show how inept these offices are. One of the billing people got terse with me and told me that they entered my claims (for an eye exam and a contact lens fitting) into the system on November 5th (the day of my visit) and that my eye insurance company was the one causing the hold-up. I took this billing person at their word and waited around a few weeks. Then, I called VSP to complain only to find out that they ONLY had the eye exam claim, and never the contact lens fitting claim (which is the one I was overcharged for).
So, it's been almost 2 months since my original doctor's appointment and I am still out $85.
At one point in this whole mess, one of the office worker's messaged "I apologize for your this is not like us". Besides the fact that that sentence doesn't make sense, after having all these issues, I have to conclude that this is EXACTLY like them.
Oh, and let me not forget to mention that the waiting rooms all have signs up that ask for patients not to talk on their cell phones...but the whole time you are waiting in any of the waiting rooms all you can hear is the front desk workers talking about their lives. I can't take a call on my cell phone, but I have to hear the front desk receptionist talk ad nauseum about her breakfast?!?!?!
Office staff so sweet and very festive for the holidays! Really made a fun office visit. Dr Saran has discovered and corrected a problem with my vision. I am so grateful to have this wonderful team caring for my eyes!
Dr Marek was very thorough and shared good information and answered my questions. We discussed a plan forward for treatment and options if needed.
Very pleasant
I experienced an unexpected eye injury on a Sunday. I called on a Monday morning and the office staff were very accommodating and fit me into the schedule the same day. Dr. Moster was thorough, friendly and professional.
I went to urgent care who tried to remove a thorn in my lower eyelid but had difficulty and stated they were not comfortable in removing it so referred me to an eye Dr so I made appt with this provider. I explained the situation, and they made a prompt appt for me in 2 days since I was not in any pain. Dr Dang checked me out and then brought in Dr Oldham for corroboration. After an "extensive exam" they both concluded that I did not have any thorn in my eyelid. In disbelief I left and dismissed it but was unsure of their conclusion. It was plain to me that there was something embedded in my eyelid. After a few weeks I made an appt with my dermatologist. He took one look at it and said "oh, I can see you have something embedded in your eyelid" and proceeded to take out the actual thorn that I complained about in the first place. very disappointed. How can 2 separate eye Drs miss, what an urgent care nurse and dermatologist saw immediately?
