Unexpected experience, and not in a good way. Checking in, I was told by the desk that I'd been notified that my scheduled eye checkup wasn't due until the next year. And, as I understand it, this is not the office's stipulation--the insurance is the one that determines what is eligible and when. But here's the issue: the communication process to the patient is lacking or incomplete. I was told that I had recently received a voicemail detailing this situation in the past couple days. Thing is, the call comes in while I'm at work, so I let it go to VM and leave it because I also get an automated text alert from the office telling me my appointment time, date, location, and that if I don't go, I am liable to pay a $30 cancellation fee. The next day, I get a second automated text detailing the same information. Maybe it's partially my fault for assuming the VM and the two texts are saying the same thing. So I go back to the desk and produce the automated texts and I'm glad I did because I almost left the building without discovering an extra layer to this. Another front-end employee is answering questions about these miscommunications and that's when I'm told I'm just ineligible for my glasses prescription per my insurance restrictions--but that I can still have my checkup appointment! Which IS covered by insurance. So if you ever have to use this place, I strongly recommend you: ask the same questions to different people; rigorously comb your voicemail; and, most importantly, make sure not to order a rideshare that gets there as you find out you could have had your appointment the whole time!

Brought my expensive frames here for transitional lenses, I usually go to the office on tollgate road(they are amazing) literally worst experience here. The woman didn't even give me any options, just took my glasses and sent them out. This was my first time so I honestly didn't know I was supposed to be given options. Paid out of pocket for these, I have an astigmatism and they are not dark enough at all. I'm still being blinded I tried to call back and they said it's been "too long" it has only been since August and then they were very rude stating "well aren't you supposed to be wearing your glasses everyday you should have called before" I'm trying to get used to wearing my glasses as I never did in the past. I can't wear them in the sun because once again they are not dark enough so no I couldn't have called before. Extremely rude and disrespectful stating I signed a waiver and pretty much too bad claimed she "doubts" the other woman didn't give me the options. Gave a call to my office and they were supposed to email out to the director of the optical shop here and once again have been left with no answers. Do not recommend, unfortunately employees can't give simple assistance like offering customers/patients the proper options available.

I've been going to Koch's for a couple of years. I was a former, don't go get stuff checked out. It might go away kind of guy. The reality is that by checking these out. I was able to elevate my wellness and become mindful of my body maintence. As an artist, my important assets are my Creativity, Drawing Hand & Eyes. Doing intricate detail artistry really forced my eyes to overwork. I'm neat sighted while further away gets a "little fuzzy". Koch's team helped me to get the right prescription for these aging eyes. Helping me to continue the career I am passionate about. It really is all about seeing a bigger picture

When I say this company is horrible, I truly mean it. They didn't file a claim until 6 months later for contacts I ordered and they should have been fully covered under my insurance (especially since that's what I was told by them when they were ordered) but because they didn't file the claim timely, it was no longer covered because the benefits had since been exhausted. That aside, I was willing to take half the blame as I understood that I should have realized the contacts order was never submitted and used the benefits to purchase glasses. I reached out to their billing office and tried to get some kind of resolution for FIVE months. Initially when I reached out, it was to try to understand what had even happened and why I was getting a bill in the first place. I had to follow up with the office at least 10 times. All of the reps were nice but unable to assist and kept telling me the director (Jackie) needed to assist me further. I left Jackie more than a handful of messages on top of the internal messages that the department was also sending me. She never once called me back. I had no idea what else to do so I started to contact the doctor's office asking for the office manager. Ended up talking to her boss and explaining what happened up until that point (she was very nice) and she got me in touch with the chief operations and compliance office (Ann bina). Oddly enough, I then got a call back from the billing director and she was HORRIBLE. She didn't even apologize for the months of neglected outreach attempts and messages, didn't acknowledge that she fell short of her duties, just gave me an attitude and talked to me like I was some nuisance when I had never even spoke to her before. I was in utter shock by how she handled the convo and how she even has her job. Our conversation ended with her hanging up on me (real professional) and so that was something I had to also update Ann on. While she was nice, she was forgetful of the details I had given her time and time again and I felt like I had to remind her of things each time we spoke. I was grateful she was trying to get some kind of resolution but ultimately failed because she said "they" (not sure who she was referring to) would not be willing to assist with the bill. This company would rather lose a patient and have their company badmouthed than pay half of the bill ($185). Just goes to show how greedy of a company they are. I was forewarned by many not to go here when I was forced to change providers due to my old office no longer accepting my insurance. I really wish I had listened. Koch eye is a joke and should be ashamed of themselves.

I have been a patient here for decades. After a few visits to this location, I have always had an issue with my prescription not being correct, long waits when first opened and never being able to reach anyone on the phone. I have continued to go there because I was fond of one doctor and I'm not going to mention her name. She has always been kind, professional, and is very good at what she does, but my last visit, she was frustrated and informed me that they squeezed me in and made it a point to let me know that she wasn't happy. When I tried to tell her about a prior visit and an accident I had with my eyes, she told me that she did not have time to hear my story and she explained her frustrations of not knowing she had an appointment with me. It's been over a month since I went to my initial visit and I'm still trying to get my contact lens prescription and my glasses. I have made many calls and I'm still waiting for them to tell me that my prescription is finalized. I will not be going back to this practice. If you decide to use Koch, I recommend that you go to the Tollgate Road practice. I have always had success there, but I would not use this location.

This will be a very mixed review, focus on today's experience. First, I want to say that In the two or three appointments I've had here, everything Has gone smoothly and Dr. Kammerdiener has been wonderful. Four or five days ago I was able to move my appointment forward two weeks earlier than originally scheduled date. However, I Couldn't get a vision field exam and a follow up exam by Dr. Kammerdieiner On the same day, so I scheduled the vision field test for today and the follow up tomorrow. The office is about 35 minutes away from my home.Today, Traffic was a bit slow and I called the office to tell them I might be a few minutes late To my 8:30 AM vision field appointment. I agreed to take the open 10 o'clock slot and so my 8:30 appointment was canceled. Fortunately , the traffic cleared and I arrived 4 minutes late to my original time. Unfortunately, if I understand correctly, there were two people scheduled before me, so maybe I would've had to wait anyway. That wasn't made crystal-clear to me, At about 9:25 I was taken into my vision field screening and was told by my technician that she could've taken me at nine as she didn't have anybody at that time. When I explained that at the check out window I was told that they Should have been notified By the technician who either didn't know that, or the office policy is confused. In any case, that confusion delayed me unnecessarily, or so, it seems to me. Then, at the same checkout window, they didn't see anything that indicated I have an appointment tomorrow with Dr. Kammerdiener. I showed them the reminder message I received yesterday. They Couldn't explain what was going on and went to discuss the situation with the office manager. When they Returned they apologized for the confusion. So, nobody seems to really know how I would receive confirmation for tomorrow's visit and yet it doesn't show up in their calendar. They were able to fit me in to 8 AM tomorrow morning. Everyone was nice to me in the office, but I still count three strikes. Still, I do want to see Dr. Kammerdiener and since everyone was pleasant, we'll say two strikes for today (3 stars instead of 2...)

On my yearly visit to the new location. I learned they No longer take VSP & will be billed out of the blue. This not the patient's fault. Speaking to my healthcare provider I have to pay the bill to get half of it back, outrageous! I have to do all this because of their licensing problem. The doctors are excellent but their business office definitely needs work.
