Blythewood EyeCare professionals in eye care from setting up the appointment, signing in, eye photos/exams, shopping and selection of glasses and choosing options to paying were all amazing. The office is beautiful as the people too. Best eye experience I've had since 10 yrs old!!! Dr Smith is the best Optometrist. Thank you everyone for your excellent service. A+++
Blythewood EyeCare is absolutely wonderful. From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Everyone takes the time to make you feel comfortable and never rushed. They were incredibly helpful when it came to picking out new frames--offering honest opinions, great suggestions, and making the whole process easy and fun. You can tell they truly care about their patients. Every staff member I interacted with was fantastic. Highly recommend Blythewood EyeCare for both their professionalism and their outstanding customer service!
I've been to this clinic once before for an eyeglass prescription, and that visit went smoothly, quick in and out, and I received my glasses prescription the same day. Because of that, I decided to return about a year and a half later to start my journey with contact lenses. Unfortunately, that turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had.
As a brand new contact lens wearer with no prior experience, I expected patience and guidance from the staff. During my first appointment, they tested my eyes for any prescription changes, which took about an hour and a half long, but I didn't mind since I assumed I'd be receiving my contact lens prescription that day. Instead, I was told I'd need to come back in two weeks for a "contact lens lesson," where beginners are taught how to insert, remove, and care for their lenses.
When I returned for that second visit, things quickly went downhill. I have very sensitive eyes, so I knew it would take me some time to get comfortable inserting lenses. However, instead of patience or understanding, I was met with rushed, insincere attitudes from the staff. I felt pressured and uncomfortable as they kept pushing me to get the lenses in, even though I was clearly struggling.
I tried speaking to Dr. Beaver about my concerns, but she dismissed me, avoided my questions, and made me feel unwelcome and small. After nearly two hours, I told the staff multiple times that I needed to leave. I work full time and couldn't spend any longer there. I asked Dr. Beaver if I could take the trial lenses home to practice in a more comfortable environment. She initially refused, saying she needed to see me insert and remove them three times before allowing that, but eventually (and reluctantly) agreed to let me take them home.
She then told me I'd need to come back for a third appointment to check my eyes with the lenses in, which I explained wasn't possible with my work schedule. I had already missed hours for two lengthy visits. Later that day, I called to request my contact lens prescription, since I had already paid $200 for the contact lens service. The clinic informed me they would NOT release my prescription unless I came back for that third appointment, an appointment I simply couldn't make.
So, now I'm out $200, have no prescription, and was treated poorly throughout the entire process. Thank you, Dr. Beaver, for wasting my time, money, and energy. I work hard for my money, and I expected at least a basic level of professionalism and respect.
Next time, I'll be taking my business (and my trust) elsewhere probably Lens Crafters, where I'll hopefully get both better service and better value.
I've been a regular patient at this establishment for a few years. The customer service from start to finish is always pleasant, direct, and consistent. I actually enjoy interacting with the Dr. Beaver and trust her guidance about the health of my eyes. Never a dull moment with the ladies that assist her. Highly recommend this locally owned establishment!
Dr. Smith was wonderful, as were the two assistants that checked me and daughter before the exam. The three stars are for my level of satisfaction with the glasses purchased during our visit. I will say that they came back much quicker than expected but they were not quite right. I'm a high index lens wearer and I definitely pay the additional cost associated with that. I've worn this type of lens for decades and am well aware of how they typically sit in the frame with my prescription. This pair of lenses were protruding out of the frame all the way around, this shouldn't have been the case. With my daughters frames there was a stripped screw (maybe) what ever the case, one arm was loose and couldn't be tightened. When I returned my frame Kasey took them and automatically replied these are high index, to which I responded no they are not and showed her a pair of my previous frames to compare. She didn't care much for the fact that I gave push back about the lens but did put in a reorder but wasn't very pleasant about it. The 2nd pair of lenses came back and was no better than the 1st. With spending almost $500 on glasses I expected better, that's a lot of money to spent on something that won't get much use. So while the back office assistants and doctors are great, I wouldn't order another pair of frames from here.
I had such a great experience here! My old eye doctor kept telling me my vision was fine and wouldn't update my prescription. I decided to try somewhere new and ended up with Dr. Smith -- and I'm so glad I did!
My prescription ended up changing by a whole point, and I can finally see clearly! All of their equipment and technology is super up to date, and I really feel like I'm getting the best care possible. Highly recommend!
I HIGHLY recommend Blythewood Eye Care for all your eye care needs! Everything about this practice, the doctors, the staff, even the decor is superb!! Dr. Beaver and Dr. Smith both have excellent bedside manners and it is obvious that they are extremely knowledgeable. All of the staff members are welcoming and friendly while still remaining professional and ensuring to treat each patient like family.
A very special shout out to Alyssa and Kasey, two of the wonderful ladies in the optical department. I am typically a contact lenses wearer, so finding eyeglasses that I like and want to wear have always been a chore for me. Alyssa spent extra time helping me find the perfect pair of stylish eyeglasses that I absolutely love! She managed to make the whole process so much fun and enjoyable for me; I am incredibly thankful to her. A few weeks later during another visit to the practice, Kasey also spent extra time with me explaining everything I needed to know about the Dry Eye Kit that I was needing to purchase. She patiently listened to ALL of my questions and answered everything with a smile. Additionally Kasey was incredibly kind and patient with me while she adjusted my new eye glasses due to the pain behind my ears. I know I asked her numerous times to make several tweaks and she never once became frustrated with me and continued to smile and treat me with kindness. I even left the office for a little bit, tested out the first set of adjustments and came back a little later for a few more tweaks. Kasey was just as patient and kind with me each time. I am so grateful to her for that positive experience and the best part is there's no more pain behind my ears when I wear my new eyeglasses now!
I could not recommend this wonderful eye practice more!!
Blythewood Eye Care is the best! Dr. Beaver caught a rare cancer in my eye and strongly encouraged me to see a specialist. That was three years ago and due to catching the cancer in a timely manner, I still have vision in that eye. I hope Dr. Beaver never leaves. I don't want to see anyone else. Also, the staff is incredible. They are kind and caring and very transparent about what my insurance will and will not cover. I love them!
