Dr. Arafat was amazing! My son left feeling so excited and confident about his appointment. The doctor was thorough, kind and thoughtful- we will absolutely come back to see him each year!

Great service. Very professional staff from check-in throughout the examination. Dr. Arafat is extremely thorough, thoughtful and friendly. I highly recommend visiting this office for your eyes.

Every time I've gone there everyone is VERY helpful and patient. I worked with Amanda to pick out some frames and she made the process very easy for me. I purchased the frames that she picked! They'll always have my business.

People are friendly but apparently they book at certain time intervals and if you need more time, then it's not available. After my exam, the doctor put me in the new contacts which were not quite correct. He did check and found the rotation was off on the right one. He handed me a different axis to try but told me he had another patient so he couldn't take any more time on this. Wear them and call back if it wasn't right was what I was told.

Excellent appointment! All workers were kind, professional and helpful, but the doctor, Dr. Arafat, was superb. He was very professional, kind, thorough, and informative and had a wonderful sense of humor. I can't wait to refer my friends and family members to him!

Last visit - WATCH what they bill you. I went in for my annual eye exam. Prior to the visit I was told there would be a $39 fee for images not covered by insurance. I approved. During my exam the doctor tried to upload the images but there were none. He went to check with the technician and came back and told me she was unable to get the photos so he would check my eye the old fashioned way. I left and paid my bill of $49. When I got home I looked at it and realized I was charged $39 for the photos. I emailed their team explaining there were no photos, the technician couldn't get them and to please refund the $39 portion. They replied and told me this (see attached image of email). " The $39 charge is for the attempted procedure and the interpretation time allocated during your exam, regardless of whether a perfect image is captured or if the attempt is halted due to technical difficulty (as was the case with the technician). This fee covers the clinical decision to attempt the comprehensive screening to rule out certain conditions and is considered part of the enhanced diagnostic protocol." NEVER was I told I would be charged for the 4 minute ATTEMPT to take photos. So, now I am paying for untrained staff members who "ATTEMPT" to do their job. I have been going here for years and no longer will return. I post this to caution anyone who considers or is going here. They only tell you about the "attempt" part after they fail and rip you off. UPDATE: So someone called right after my review to say they were sorry and tell me that the person who emailed me was not supposed to do that and they needed to investigate. Today I got this email, " Info SCEA 11:51 AM (11 minutes ago) to me Good morning. We wanted to give you an update on the details of your exam after speaking with all involved. The good news is they did get retinal images and reviewed them and have saved them on your file for future comparisons. The doctor did see the images, as did the tech, according to their report. We hope this eases your mind and that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving." COMPLETE AND TOTAL LIE!!! There were NO images. The doctor said I can't find the images let me check with the technician. He left, came back and said, "She wasn't able to get the images so we will do this the old fashioned way" and he used the light. THERE WERE NO PHOTOS THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR SO NOW TO MOVE TO BBB AND CREDIT CARD TO GET THIS REMEDIED because stealing from customers is just awful. This is a bold face lie.

I am so glad I found this clinic located within the LensCrafters store in West Ashley. Friendly and efficient front desk, and Dr. Arafat was exceptional. I feel confident in his skill and look forward to continued care at Eye Associates of Charleston.

Very friendly and professional and nice and helpful when doing the eye exam. I remember the last eye exam in California and it was at an eye doctor inside of Lens Crafter and I didn't like that doctor. This one I highly recommended him.
