Had my 4th IPL treatment with Dr. Bradley Williams on 03/05/26. As always he was very kind and encouraging. And his expertise and skill resulted in a very successful treatment. I could feel the Meibomian glands that had been plugged "pop" open and drain diseased oil during the second part of the treatment. I will not need to return now until a follow-up appointment in August. I am thankful to God and Dr. Williams as well as Julie and other great team members whose names I cannot recall who have helped me. I do want to say a special thanks to Wren, who assisted me in applying for financial assistance, as well as showing great patience with answering my multitude of questions, or getting the answers for me, when
I was deciding whether to go forward with treatment. And I will always be grateful to Dr. Caleb Senn for his expert, kind and successful treatment of me for a related problem as well as his referral for me to see Dr. Williams.
My visits to Southern Eye Associates have always been excellent! The professionalism from the moment that I walk in the door to the moment I leave is superior to most office visits. The facility is immaculately clean, the staff is friendly and very accommodating and professional.
Most of us have unique situations with their eyes. Dr. Hyman takes excellent care of me gives great easy to understand advice and treats me with respect and compassion and high professionalism. I would recommend Southern Eye Associates to anyone!
I have been going to Southern Eye for years. They have very qualified doctors who care about their patients. All of their staff are very friendly, experts in their field and very courteous. Thank you for taking good care of my eyes.
If you have dry eyes, look no further, Dr. Bradley Williams is by far the best opthalmologist I have seen, and I've been to a few in different states! After 5 years of suffering with dry eyes without reprieve, I finally found Dr. Williams. Actually, a rheumatologist I went to highly recommended him, saying he was the nicest doctor he's ever met. He was wasn't exaggerating. Dr. Williams genuinely loves helping people. He gets to know his patients and asks follow-up questions about their lives at each visit. One morning, I asked how he was doing, and he gushed about how good of day it was because he was able to help people get relief. He is so knowledgeable and continues to go to conferences to learn from experts in the field, and still remains humble. I went through 4 rounds of IPL and meibomian gland expression. My eyes feel less dry, I'm not constantly reaching for my eye drops, and I can even notice my visual acuity increasing (I can now see crisp silhouettes of trees in the skyline from my backyard for the first time). I had gone to two different opthalmologists where I tried punctal plugs, Restasis prescription drops, Regener-Eyes, supplements, and even amniotic membrane discs in both eyes. I knew that I had reactive tears, but I was constantly using eye drops and still felt miserable throughout the day. Neither of these doctors mentioned anything about meibomian glands. For a while, I've had a divot or indent along my waterline, but it wasn't until seeing Dr. Williams and learning about meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and its role in dry eyes that I realized what the divot was from. I'm astounded that I had a visual sign of MGD and two doctors were still completely unaware of what was actually causing my dry eye issues. I had been to three dermatologists due to worsening rosacea symptoms and none of them linked my dry eye issues to rosacea. Within the last year, I was diagnosed with an acrylate allergy. Due to this, I was no longer able to use my rosacea prescription from my dermatologist; however, the local pharmacy Dr. Williams uses was able to make the compound cream without acrylates. Dr. Williams normally gives his IPL patients a bottle of EltaMD sunscreen. Since this has acrylates, he ordered me a bottle of sunscreen I was able to use. I wish I would've met Dr. Williams sooner, but I'm so grateful I eventually ended up in his office. His team and everyone I've interacted with at Southern Eye Associates has been phenomenal. His assistant, Julie, is always so kind. I cannot remember his other assistant's name, but she's wonderful too. The receptionist, April, always has a bright smile, even at 7:30 in the morning. Even staff members who haven't directly worked with me always go out of their way to greet me in the halls. I hear so many positive interactions between the staff and patients. I can tell that this is an office full of caring professionals.
I'll admit, I was a little nervous to do IPL after reading information online about it hurting (like a rubberband snapping). However, Dr. Williams told me to let him know if I felt any pain or discomfort because his goal is for his patients to be comfortable throughout the entire process (in other words, no rubberband snapping). On the third and fourth treatments, I used the metal eye covers (go under your lids), so he could treat my eyelids directly. Since I could still see the light through the shields (not in a harmful way, just still see the flash), I was trying to tightly close my eyelids which was uncomfortable. Dr. Williams immediately stopped and asked if I was okay. Julie gave me stress balls, and Dr. Williams started warning me each time he was going to use the light so it wouldn't be as much of a surprise. Once I settled my anxiety enough to stop squeezing my eyes closed, I was fine. I'm so grateful for Dr. Williams and Julie for being so attentive, understanding, and patient. I really cannot recommend this office enough. I'm grateful that my friends don't suffer from dry eyes, but I wish I had people to tell how amazing Southern Eye Associates is.
One of the most pleasant medical facilities in our area. All the staff are friendly, polite and respectful, and all the doctors are genuinely concerned with every patient's issues. For over 40 years Dr. Williams has been my doctor and he is definitely the best!
