UPSTATE EYE CARE : Dr. Frank Boone

Dr. Boone is terrific. Truly cares about his patients and staff, as it seems from the outside looking in. Glasses are EXTREMELY expensive at the shop within, so I don't use that part. But exam, etc are timely and he does the retinal photography to watch eye health if you choose that option. ( about $40 for both eyes currently)

I feel so lucky to find a great place like Upstate Eye Care! The moment I walk in, I am greeted with a smile!! Then as I check in the specialist at the front always remembers something from my previous appointment asking me how my day is going! Then the lovely help to run the pre-exam. She is always so friendly making me feel at home. The doctor then comes in, and gets to know the patient before jumping into the tests. He actually shows that he cares! After the appointment the doctor is polite and asks if we can pray together, I didn't mind at all and said yes! He said a lovely prayer which included good eye health! Just a whole lovely staff, great doctor, and a nice stock of glasses to choose from!

I'm very sorry to say that I don't have much faith in this optometrist. I think that they're gaffing people and charging money that we shouldn't be paying. I was charged $65 for an eye exam that did nothing more than I've ever had done at any other optometrist. I never had to pay. But this time I did because the doctor said he did something medically necessary in my eye exam. Did did the eye exam they dilated my pupils, and they did a test for cataracts . And I told the doctor I had them before you started that I had baby cataracts . Which I've had for about 5 or 6 years . Anyway make sure they're not charging you for something that you don't need. Also my glasses were going to run me about $850 there I wound up buying them in another place for $528. For a lot less. so I guess that prices are a little high also. I called and asked. My exam should have been included with my insurance. Butt they not considering anything to do about the bill.

I was referred to this doctor for my son with autism. They called me and informed me they don't do pediatrics nor autism. So if you fall in either of these categories this is not the office for you. They actually made an appointment and waited till two weeks before the appointment to call and let me know. If they don't accept pediatric patients they should have never made the appointment.

An unfortunate experience... I paid $500+ out of packet (after insurance) for a pair of glasses that impair my vision! I've taken them back twice for revision, and am told now they can only change to bifocals or nothing... which I already have a $15 pair! I'm waiting for a call, and hoping the doctor/owner will reconsider and refund my money as I didn't see a buyer beware clause. More to come!

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Boone for several years now. We have recently gotten our family to switch to him at well. Never have we had an eye doctor that was so thorough. We both have have glasses since we were young children. There were issues with our eyes that no other doctor had pointed out. We can see so much better coming to Dr. Boone! He always prays with us before we leave his examination room. He is definitely worth our hour and a half drive to get to him!

I have not seen an ophthalmologist in many years and was in need of a check-up and new glasses/contacts. As I had recently changed insurance, I found Upstate Eye Care on the health insurance website. I am so happy that I stumbled onto Dr. Boone and his staff! The excellent service I received was beyond compare for a doctor's office. They took so much time making sure that every aspect of my visit was excellent. It is refreshing to see a staff that enjoys their work and cares about their customers satisfaction the way Upstate Eye Care does! I have found my new eye doctor! Thanks Dr. Boone and all the staff at Upstate Eye Care, for an incredible experience!

I was searching for new eye care since I had moved, and I'm so glad I decided to go to Upstate EyeCare! All of the staff is very welcoming and ready to help with whatever you need. I loved Dr. Boone and how he got to know a little bit about me and showed he cared. I had a great, personable experience, unlike any doctor's visit I've had. Definitely go to Dr. Boone and his staff!! I also love that it's a Christian establishment :)
