Had a problem with my frames from another optical shop. My new frames fell apart because they had broken one of the set pins. I stopped into Lowcountry Vision Care since they carried the particular brand of frames I use. The optical technician could not have been more helpful. They actually carried the brand of frames I use which are typically very hard to find. She found a pair of display frames that were perfect. Fitted them on my new lenses and charges me a nominal fee. I was flying out of town that afternoon that afternoon so it was a true blessing.

Last week my husband woke up with red, swollen eyes and lids. I was a patient there, but Jim had never been there. I called as soon as they opened and they gave him an appointment by 9:30am. Dr. Smith prescribed drops for him, and asked us to follow up the next day. There was improvement, so he advised Jim to continue the treatment and follow up in five days. By that time he was back to normal! We were very grateful that they took a new patient for a same day visit and did such a thorough follow up.

I had a terrible experience at Lowcoutry Vision Care. The front desk receptionist, Lori, was incredibly rude and unhelpful. She didn't seem to understand how insurance works and made the whole process very frustrating. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The optometrist was very nice though but the process before seeing the optometrist was so difficult. She didn't seem to understand how insurance works and made me pay out of pocket.

LowCountry vision care exceeded my expectations for professional eye care by Dr. Smith. He is experienced, patient and engages his clients by educating them about their own eye care. Dr. Smith conducted each one of the tests personally...no changes of people conducting tests in each room. His staff members are very knowledgeable and are genuinely interested in giving each client their full attention. Kerri Leonard assisted me with check-in and insurance information. She also provided me with the most helpful guidance I have ever received when selecting my new eyeglasses. Everyone in the office was warm, friendly and highly competent. They have my highest recommendation!

My contact lense prescription did not come with the exam. I had to pay a fitting fee for lenses I've worn for over 20 years. The staff was pleasant to begin with. I've worked for an optometrist and worn glasses since I was 3. Once I began to question my bill, it was no longer pleasant. I felt bullied and taken advantage of. With insurance I owed over $100. vs the $20 copay my new Optometrist charges. Nice selection of quality frames. Most importantly, the doctor was knowledgeable and easy going.
