I took my 4-year-old son to Dr. Paul Draayer for a bump on his eye. While the staff was helpful and kind, Dr. Draayer was cold, dismissive, and lacked basic bedside manner. He made no effort to explain what he was doing to my son, who was visibly distressed. Instead of offering reassurance, he impatiently pulled at my son's eye and never explained the diagnosis or exam results, which he didn't perform himself. A technician conducted the eye tests and gathered preliminary information, yet Dr. Draayer did not take the time to engage with my son or review the results personally. He simply prescribed eye drops without telling me what they were for or why they were needed. I had to ask multiple times for basic information, which he provided begrudgingly. His condescending tone regarding the potential for surgery was unprofessional and disrespectful, as it implied negligence on my part rather than simply stating that surgery might be necessary if the condition worsened. His dismissive attitude toward this serious concern was completely unprofessional and left me feeling insulted. I would not recommend this doctor if you're looking for compassionate, clear, and thorough care.
