Disappointing Experience with Unfair Billing and Rude Staff Behaviour I visited this hospital for a consultation, where I was prescribed medicines for 10 days and explicitly instructed by the doctor to return for a follow-up after one week. Unfortunately, due to falling ill with fever and cold, I was unable to travel the 20 km distance that immediate weekend and instead visited the following weekend--still well within the ongoing treatment period. To my shock, I was demanded to pay the full consultation fee of Rs. 620 again for this follow-up visit. I had not been informed beforehand that missing the exact one-week mark would result in a full re-consultation charge, especially since the doctor had initiated the treatment and requested the revisit themselves. When I politely requested the receptionist to reconsider or waive the fee under these circumstances, her response was extremely rude and unprofessional. She snapped, "Eppudu malli 600 kattadaniki enti???" in a humiliating and dismissive tone, showing complete lack of empathy for a patient already unwell. She outright refused my reasonable request to speak with the doctor about the matter. As someone working in the healthcare field myself, I found this attitude particularly appalling and dehumanizing. Patients seek medical help during vulnerable times, and such behavior from front-desk staff erodes trust entirely. Furthermore, in my experience across various hospitals and clinics, it is uncommon to charge the full consultation fee for a follow-up just one week delayed, especially when the visit is directly related to ongoing treatment started by the same doctor. Many establishments offer reduced or waived fees for follow-ups within 7-15 days to encourage continuity of care. This hospital's rigid policy--combined with the receptionist's inhumane handling--left me feeling undervalued and discouraged from returning. I strongly advise potential patients to prepare for possible insensitive treatment from staff. Not everyone will read the entire bill receipt after paying consultation being informed verbally abt 1 week policy wld be appreciated! Highly disappointed and will not recommend or revisit.
