Let me begin this review with the positive things I would like to say about this office. First, the front desk lady who scheduled me was very friendly and helpful as well as this office was able to fit me in rather quickly to renew my prescription. The appointment was very quick as I wasn't even in the office an entire hour. On the other hand, yes the appointment was quick but I felt like the exam was very rushed and I honestly didn't understand much of what the doctor was saying as the topics bounced back and forth so much but had nothing to do with my eyes or why I was there. When the doctor came in, I was not greeted in any way nor did he introduce himself to me since I was a new patient. The exam was not thorough at all like I am used to and the door wasn't even shut during the exam so everyone in the office could hear anything that was said which cannot be in line with HIPPA. I work in a doctor's office and know patient privacy should always be a top priority. Overall, this experience was nothing like I had ever experienced before to say the least.

There just isn't a nice way to say this so I'll just say that this "doctor" should never be allowed to interact with patients and certainly not with something as important as our eyes. He is clearly not mentally stable and there just isn't any way around that. WHY they continue to allow him to go through the motions is beyond me. He seems like a nice enough fellow for the most part but I can't lie either--he was also a little creepy. But, that could be because he was just spouting out nonsense during my entire visit. He couldn't answer a single question for me in a direct and straightforward manner and was always speaking some language only he could understand. As someone else stated, he never greeted me when he came into the room, didn't close the door and started talking about something to do with his bank and money going somewhere...but with no context, just rambling. By the end of the very brief exam I left with not even a prescription for eyeglasses as he stated "no prescription needed." Y'all...lol, I most certainly need glasses as I've been near sighted my whole life. But he mentioned how the glasses would just make me dizzy. Also, my right eye is completely blurry(the MAIN reason for my visit) and he said it "might be" a cataract but I'd need to go to another doctor...and even gave me business card for another doctor after scurrying around searching for said card. NOT a cataract surgeon mind you...just another doctor. What??? I was under the assumption that HE was a doctor and could tell me for certain if I indeed have a cataract and would at the very least be able to give me a referral. So, basically I walked out of there $69 poorer and with no prescription nor a referral or any more knowledge whatsoever than I went in with. PLEASE just go somewhere else if you need an exam. If you just need a prescription filled they might be ok...I can't speak to that. But, I honestly don't believe this "doctor" is competent to be examining anybody's eyes. Also, the lady out front was nice and courteous. It does concern me though that they MUST be aware of the "doctor's" incompetence and continue to perpetuate this "scam." If you don't believe me just go fork over the $69 and get yourself an 'exam'.And, hey...be sure and come leave a review if you do.

*This place really deserves zero stars* I went in for an appointment today at 4 pm to meet with Dr. Paul Warner. At first glance, I could tell he wasn't quite right. When he met me in the patient room, he didn't greet me with a professional "hello" but rather a verbal score card of the sports game he had been watching. The entirety of our appointment was filled with verbal spews from his mind that made zero sense to me. He bounced back and forth from subject to subject and couldn't answer any of my questions with a direct answer. He mentioned the word "cheat" more times than I care to admit. He used the term in reference to medical practices, such as writing on the paper work (without my verbal consent) that I refused to have my eyes dilated.. this was a way to "cheat" the system so he didn't have to dilate my eyes. During my exam, he referred to one of the vision machines as "torturous" and whispered in my ear in the pitch black room to remind me... "remember it's torturous", he said. I could feel him uncomfortably close to me when the lights were off and frankly, I felt paralyzed. Finally, I was able to leave the room and pay and thought I would just walk out of those doors and never come back... BUT he told me to come back into the room so he could look at my eyes again. He was spewing more nonsense about why I needed to come back in there, pointed at some pictures on the wall, told some stories, and then I left... NEVER EVER EVER COMING BACK. I gained zero knowledge from this appointment and I left feeling confused and uncomfortable, a way someone should never feel after visiting a medical professional. The women at the front desk were very nice though.

This place should have been shutdown years ago. The dr is dangerous and not quite right in the head. He's the only eye dr I've ever went to that tried to stick a q-tip to my eyeball. When I had trouble not blinking when it got close he told me to quit squirming and acting like a child. I couldn't help it, he stuck it against it once and it hurt. I started trying to move and he was holding me down trying to poke the other one and talking nonsense the whole time and acting mad. I got loose, stopped and paid and assured them it would be my last visit.

I was treated badly at the Athens store on the 15 of September I was let into the store and was told the safety instructions. Ok I'm good but then the man that was waiting on me went off the deep end yes I was shocked. I told him I was going to pay for the glasses but I had a Insurace that would Sind me 100.00 to me I just needed a print out to fax to them on haw much they cst all of a sudden he went nuts no I'm not going to deal with your insurance I know how they work. I said no I will pay I just need the paper to fax to them to get a little back. He said I will not survice you the girls tried to tell him I was going to pay but he was crazy and got me by the arm and escorted me to the door and locked it behind me . I am a Doctor's wife in Athens not a robber it upset me so much I

My wifes eye exam: This Dr was nuts! Babbling, stringing together sentences about prizefighters and dentists, stopping in the middle of the exam to tape his equipment back together, (his exam chair didn't work either) and then poked my wife in the eyelid with a brass tool. He was erratic! The women up front were not helpful when I asked about frames either. We got out of there fast! Would not recommend!!

Just stopping by to see what experiences people have been having here. I thought the doctor was charming and endearing, but I have known a few autistic people and I am not scared by similar behaviors. I dont know why this person is different, it may not be autism, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt because I'm a little odd too. And so are you.
