Bill Byars Optometry OD

I've been going to optometrists since I was eight years old, and no one has ever impressed me as much as Dr. Byars. He is an excellent optometrist with a professional, yet fun, personality, and his office manager and assistant, Tricia, is a lovely and extremely helpful person, too. I'm not sure why another reviewer accused Dr. Byars of being "rude," as I have never found him to be so, and the office hours are CLEARLY stated on the signs and the office phone systems. They are not a 24/7 service, and should not be treated as if they are. I truly do not understand the other review, except to assume that this person was having a bad day and wanted to blame it on someone else. "Rude" is not a word I would EVER associate with Dr. Byars or his office, and I'm not sure any sensible person would either. At any rate, we all seem to agree that the fees are better than ANYWHERE in the area, (and beyond, in my own experience), and the service is even better. Yes, you need to make an appointment, but I'm not sure how that is offensive to anyone, especially given the lower fees and better services. I have been seeing Dr. Byars for my eye care for four years now, and I have never had a single complaint or problem. They do everything within their power to make your eye care experience easier on your pocketbook, more pleasant, thorough, and caring. Anyone who says differently has a bone to pick that has nothing to do with Dr. Byars , because he is excellent, and I would recommend him before any other optometrist that I have seen (all puns intended) in over three decades. Dr. Byers is very rude and short with his patients. His doors say walk-ins are accepted any time, but if you try to walk in for an appointment he is rude and will turn you away. He informed me that contrary to what is posted, he only accepts walk-ins on Saturday's. When asked for the hours on Saturday, he made it sound like they were open all day when in fact they close at 12:00. His prices are significantly cheaper than anywhere else in the area, but I will not be back to his office after this most recent experience. I'd rather pay twice the amount to have a better experience with a doctor that is actually nice and polite. All the staff in his office is very friendly, as well as the staff in the attached Walmart Vision Center, but because of his nasty attitude they have lost all of my business from here on.
