I can't say enough about this group. From check in with Tammy to Dr. Bierly's team. Karen & Christy the best. They are all over the top. Very friendly and professional. They know what they are doing. Dr. Bierly is very personable and goes over all the details of the surgery with you. I highly recommend Southeast Eye Specialist (Dr. Bierly and team).

I was referred to Southeast Eye Specialists in Chattanooga for cataract surgery. While many patients report positive experiences, mine was frustrating and disappointing. My evaluation with Dr. Phillips felt rushed and impersonal. Lens options were not clearly explained, and I did not feel my questions were truly welcomed -- despite how important those decisions are. Scheduling required repeated calls with little follow-through. I was promised a callback and waited ten days with no response and no documentation in my chart. My prescription drops were also not sent to the pharmacy as directed, and I had to intervene shortly before surgery. Billing created additional stress. My payment was charged to the wrong account, remained pending for nearly two weeks, and I was overbilled. One interaction with billing staff was dismissive and rude. The surgery with Dr. Bierly was technically successful, and I am grateful for that. However, the overall experience -- including the surgical interaction -- was not pleasant. The process felt impersonal and disorganized from start to finish. Cataract surgery is a one-time event for most patients; it should not come with this level of avoidable frustration. Also, didn't get the big 'cataract sunglasses' just was told to wear my own. Kind of sucks wearing your own glasses that don't fit correctly over an plastic eye shield. 2 big thumbs down.

The visit was great! People were very friendly and professional. The wait time of 2 MONTHS FOR THE PROCEDURE IS VERY UNSATISFACTORY. THAT HAS GOT TO BE FIXED!!! It took 7 wks from the time Dr McGarvey referred me to see Dr McCartey! So it will be 4 mths dealing with progressively blurrier vision in my right eye. You need to hire more people or something.

Every person with whom I interacted was friendly, informative, and thoughtful. I am looking forward to having my second cataract surgery, as the first one was such a positive experience. Highly recommend!

I have never seen such a well coordinated group of professionals. They operate so slowly it is like a well rehearsed dance. They are very informative and make sure you are totally comfortable for your procedure.

I was pleased and impressed by my appointment with Dr Windham at SEES East Tn office. I had an emergency eye event, the office was kind enough to get me an appointment the next day. Dr Windham did a thorough exam, answered all my questions and realized that my problem was easily remedied. I now have eye care for myself and my family taken care of yearly in Chattanooga.

The doctor and staff are awesome, makes you feel very comfortable explains in detail what is going to be done. The nurses are so sweet and friendly. I will definitely recommend Southeast Eye Institute to others.

Very nice place. Polite people from the time you enter check-in to check-out. Checks your eyes thoroughly and with questions answered to ease your troubled mind. Walked in scared of what's to come, to walking out with looking forward to getting my cataracts removed. A++
