Tennessee Retina

Dr. Peter Sonkin started working on me over 18 years ago; I know because it was the year his youngest son was born! He identified a serious problem with a blood mass behind my "good" right eye; my left eye had a detached retina in the early 70's. I had an ocular occlusion requiring laser oblation. It had to be done again later. He absolutely saved my vision; my macula is in good shape allowing me to function normally. I am a pastor, and reading is essential to my work. He encouraged me to have cataract surgery, and followed me through some macular adema. My vision is amazing to me and to my optometrist. Dr. Sonkin was very compassionate and professional, a master of his craft. I am very grateful to him.

I was an observer in the waiting area while my friend was being seen by this office. I consistently overheard the receptionist speaking so kindly to folks in person as well as over the telephone. When I got ready to leave, I acknowledged her kindness. What a treat and how we need more of this in our world! Thank you Terrell!

I just tried to schedule a new appointment, and I had the rudest receptionist. I can't believe they allow someone like this to answer phones. I'll won't be seeing a doctor here. There are many other doctors in the area. I don't have to put up with such unprofessionalism.

This place is a unbelievable with the wait time. You make a appointment and still wait forever. I dislike it very much. No concern for the patient's.

3+ hours each time to do appointments here, waiting room is always full. Will be finding a new provider.

If you want to be rescheduled for 2 or 3 years, if you want to wait in a room, then be herded like cattle from room to room with no idea what is next, what the test is for, or how long, this is your place. It's just a place that takes 3 hours for a simple appointment. The doc makes tons but the people have to take a full day off work just to be seen. It's pretty disgusting. Filing through 15 people at the same time is just disgusting. You should be ashamed.

Being treated for an eye issue at this location. The staff is very courteous and professional. During my last visit I was in pain after hours. I called the listed number, which I assumed terminated at the Nashville location. I left a message explaining my problem not expecting a response until the following day. Much to my surprise I received a voice mail approximately 45 minutes later. The caller , Julie, covered the steps I needed to perform to lessen my discomfort. I took those steps and made it through the night. The next morning at 0750, before the start of the business day Julie called again checking on on where she walked me through additional steps to hasten my healing. I don't know this lady and have never met her but I am throughly impressed that she took the time to go above and beyond checking on my situation. There are precious few health providers that have the kind of caring that Julie has. I highly recommend this Retina Specialists provider should you have the need for the services they provide.
