It had been a while since my last eye exam, but the team at Eyear made the process incredibly easy. The doctor was excellent--thorough and educational--and the staff was phenomenal from start to finish. If you need an eye check or new glasses, this is hands-down the best place to go!!
I have had the HARDEST time finding some cute glasses. Amy was soooo patient with me finding the CUTEST frames! I am so excited to pick them up. Can't recommend this place enough! You can also tell that they truly know what they are doing here! I have been to SO MANY opticals where they either wouldn't help you or they weren't willing to give me the time of day. Everyone was so friendly! 100/10 experience for me!
update on my previous review:
Their response to my previous review does not explain the inferior lenses they sold me. I treated their lenses no differently than I've ever done to my Costco lenses. I clean them carefully with only water and/or a cleaning cloth that I keep in my pocket.
I gave them an opportunity to recover from the terrible quality of my lenses by agreeing to pay what I had originally paid for the lenses which was $166 (the so-called discount they gave my insurance company). They insisted on charging me $250 to replace my lenses, saying that was a discounted price.
Costco charged me only $80 for new, quality lenses that I've never had trouble with in the past! That is less than a third of what I air obstacle wanted claiming that they were giving me a discounted price! So, not only does their quality suck, so do their prices! There was a possibility they could have kept me as a customer had they allowed me to pay $166 to replace my defective lenses, which is DOUBLE what I paid Costco!
In summary, I can think of no reason to ever use this company. Poor quality lenses, poor service, high prices!
I have been severely cheated by the owner of Eye Ear Optical in Cleveland TN two times in 30 days. At the end of Dec 2025, they made glasses for me, but they made my prism in my lenses wrong. And now they refuse to remake them, even though I was still in my 30 day window.
I first had Eye Ear Optical read my lenses, and they claimed they were correct, but my ophthalmologist confirmed that my lenses were not made according to the prescription, so he ordered a remake. I thought all was well though because the Eye Ear Optical owner agreed to remake them after that.
Well, a new year had rolled over, so I also picked out a new frame and was having an additional pair made on my 2026 insurance, due to I hated the first frames that I had gotten there, due to they were warped and had way too long of ear pieces, and were way larger than I recalled too. I was having to readjust them daily because they were so warped. I even had them adjust them and heat set them, but it did not stay more than a day either. When I picked out my new frames in Jan 2026, I was extra careful to get properly made frames and well fitting frames this time too. As I was trying them on, I did notice that half the frames in one long case were also warped, so I did not pick those.
The owner said that they would wait and make sure these new lenses were made correctly before remaking the original glasses for free that they made wrong, so I said ok.
So she charged my 2026 insurance the $400. for the new set I picked out. An hour or so after I picked up my new glasses, I noticed that they were not the frames that I had picked out. They were very similar, but the bling on the edge was very different and gold, not silver, and did not have the pretty bling. And the fame was slightly differently shaped. So I called and told them. The owner said I could return them but that they were already in the hole and would not be making me anymore glasses.
So she got my 2025 $500 insurance payment. And my 2026 $400. insurance payment. And I get no make over at all for the 2025 glasses that they made wrong, nor do I get the new 2026 frames that I picked out. The owner said they would just refund my insurance for the 2026 glasses, but were not making me anymore "because they were already in the hole," as if their mistakes are not their own fault.
So now I am out my 2025 insurance payment, and I get no remake glasses for it, and they keep that $500. that my insurance paid for the warped frames and lenses that they made wrong in Dec 2026. They are money hungry and willing to cheat people!
Very unhappy. I bought my first glasses from the Eyear Cleveland store last April. Eight months later, my glasses look like they have been cleaned with sandpaper. I have always treated my glasses with care and never cleaned them with anything other than glasses approved cleaners and cloths. When I presented them to Eyear, they made excuses for the glasses: "The anti-glare coating is coming off" and implied that I have done something to cause it. I assured them that my Costco glasses had the same coatings and I cleaned them in the same way and they last for at least a year or two before normal wear starts showing. They offered to replace my lenses for 1/2 price, or $250. I only paid $166 originally! I offered to pay $166 for new lenses and the lady just said "Good day" and I left. I can only assume they sell inferior glasses at high prices and refuse to take any responsibility for their errors.
Eyear optical optical is beginning to be a joke I have been going here since I was a little kid I will definitely not be coming back to I your optical I will find a different eye doctor not telling you what to do but I would do the same the attitude is getting horrible
I had a great experience. Dr. Bencho is a great eye doctor and I picked out several frames for sunglasses, reading glasses and computer glasses. I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and there were several options for what I wanted.
I particularly appreciated Wanda's expertise in helping me pick out the perfect frames.
Just a shout and a thank you to the young lady ( I didn't catch her name) with the brown hair in a bow at the desk, I got my 6 yr olds glasses from her and she was very sweet! It was a big day for him and she made his experience extra special and helped us find the perfect pair. She hyoed him up and made a little boy feel confident.
Thank you so much for your kindness!!
