Samuel H. Horner III, OD

I went for an eye exam to see Dr Horner and instead of filling the exam with my eye insurance Eye-med, it was filed with my medical insurance which has a copay. After calling and and asking for an explanation I was told that it has to be filed under medical if there are signs of various diseases such as diabetes, cataracts, etc. I have had a trace of cataracts for two decades which doesn't make any sense. The office lady is now refilling the claim with Eye med which should have been filed this way in the first place. After this issue is resolved I will never go back to his office especially after dealing with a rude receptionist. Update: after calling two insurance companies and spending over an hour on the phone it looks like my complaint will be resolved with a refund from the Dr's office that should have never been filed the way it was filed. All the info is on my insurance card, yet it took pulling teeth to get them to file it correctly. Hopefully my refund will be there in the next week or so. Update; Recieved my refund. However, the Dr's office still charged my insurance 2 times for a routine exam. I had to report them to my medical insurance so they would get a refund. The front desk is terrible. Dr Horner has lost a customer because of this. Amazing that I had to help them do the right thing.

So I take my mother who would be a new patient to this eye doctor in Clevland Tn Samuel H. Horner Today. May 9th 2024 and it's pouring out due to the tornado watch we have been experiencing she Mom is 70 years old we find parking 10 minutes later have to walk over and are drenched in the process when we arrive my Mother has to use the Restroom and was told that there is no restroom (huh) to which my reply is Don't tell me there is no restroom. Because I'm sure you guys have a place to alleviate yourselves. The unprofessional receptionist tells me we do but it's old and if it don't flush or over flush you will have to clean it. So I says to her that's fine. Im lead to where the rest room is and told someone's in there must be the Doctor and told I can go outside and wait or go across the street to the Courthouse. I held my composure and just left the office never to be back. unbelievable what is going on in our World nowadays if your not qualified to work with medical patient maybe you should work at a Mc Donald's or a waffle house where all the Fighting has been going on lately (wooossaaaaaa)

Set up an appointment for 1 day for me and my fiance, get a phone call for them. Canceling that both appointments, my fiance is epileptic. Her appointments need to be the same day as mine. Was not considerate, the lady that called me was extremely rude and unprofessional.

As others have stated, the doctor was very friendly. However, his billing staff is downright nasty! We received a bill this month for treatment almost two years ago. I called to inquire about the bill, and the older lady they transferred me to in billing had ZERO customer service skills! She was very condescending, and at one point even (condescendingly) stated, 'so you want the doctor to write off something you had service for just because you weren't billed for 2 years?!'. She also stated they filed a claim to our medical insurance (and not eye insurance) due to the procedure, and that it was denied. I contacted our medical insurance, who stated there was never a claim from Dr. Horner's practice, and that if they made a claim after 180 days, that it would be automatically denied. I'm currently waiting for this office to send me proof of filing the claim within the required time.

It's great to visit such a down to earth eye clinic close to home.

My whole family goes to Dr.horner we have been going to him for over 30 years now he's the best ever going to miss him when he retires I have no idea who we will find to replace him

Good old fashioned customer service and trusted professional medical care are what makes Dr. Horner's office the best place for all my eye care. I even paid half what Walmart charges after insurance. Great to know I have found Cleveland's best

No public bathrooms even for their customers. Gee, not friendly or humane. Also, apparently were all children here. About no food or drinks and you aren't allowed to make a call on your cell phone. But hey, they got their worship music playing. Guess they love Jesus but not people. I think bad thoughts and I'll keep them to myself at this point.
