I am extremely disappointed with the patient care, especially from one of the staff members, Kristen. I took my grandfather in, and she was very rude and unprofessional. Management should reevaluate the front desk staff.

I was disappointed in the lack of patient care after my dad got treatment in one eye. With elderly people you need to show concern and help them prepare for treatment, not just rush like you don't have time and push a needle in the eye. They should have covered the eye after the treatment for someone that is older to help them. If you say that's not your policy maybe you should reconsider.

Does not take care of Veterans. Made an appointment fir my husband and they thought it was funny that we drove up over an hour just to find out that no git the referral done and the appointment had to be rescheduled. The office staff smiled at my disabled husband which I find insulting and unprofessional. I would not recommend this facility

Today I needed emergency laser eye surgery. I had a great experience at this place! Dr. Patel and his team were absolutely great!

Dr Patel and his staff is very knowledgeable, and treats his patients with much care and much compassion. They continue to follow up after the surgeries with phone calls and the necessary follow up appointments to make sure of any needs that you may have....... They are very excellent at explaining the steps that will be taken to fix the eye....... I have had a condition of my retinal that continues to tear and detach that has been very problematic and they have not given up on trying to save my eye. We are well pleased and would highly recommend West Texas Retina Center, along with Dr Patel and his staff.

Had been dealing with serious eye issues for awhile after a couple of opthalmology visits with a couple of different doctors they were both confused and one finally referred me to west texas retina consultants to see Dr. Zavaleta. After the first appointment he knew exactly what was going on and diagnosed me with Punctate inner choroiditis in both of my eyes, now that we knew what was going on Dr. Zavaleta was able to recommend what i should do next. So I got a refferal to rheumatology from my primary care physician and was able to get on much needed medication that has helped my vision along with giving answers to years of medical issues I was having. Extremely thankful to Dr. Zavaleta and his team his findings and knowledge will help me through life.

I have been a patient of Dr. Z and his staff at West Texas Retina/ Abilene Surgery Center since March 2021. First of all the staff made a scary situation and scary procedures completely bearable due to not only their professionalism but also in their kindness and their explanations of the procedures. I won't lie and tell you the procedures felt like a happy christmas morning but I will tell you that Dr. Z and his staff put my anxiety about the procedures at ease with the way everyone from the receptionist, nurses, assistance, billing (yes I said billing clerks, amazing I know) and Dr. Z himself treated me. These people are amazing and will go out of their way to answer any and all questions and are more than willing to work with your schedule. Everyone who works with West Texas Retina are amazing. I hope you never have to visit them for eye procedures it's not fun believe me but if you have to.have eye procedures done I would not go anywhere else. Major Kudos to Dr. Z and his staff they do wonderful work and make sure you completely understand the procedures and feel comfortable while in their care

The staff are very friendly and courteous. Facility is clean. They are very busy and there's usually a lot of people coming through but they seem to handle that pretty well. If it was possible to takeoff 1/2 star, I probably would because of the wait time. It would be good if you were told ahead of time how long the appointment will be. This was about a two hour appointment and I was expecting about one hour. With that said, the courtesy and hospitality of the staff makes up for the extra wait time. I will just make sure I give a little extra time for other appointments in the future.
