Amarillo Family Eyecare

We have been patients with this eye doctor for about a year and a half. We had to cancel an appointment due to a schedule change. They said it needed to be rescheduled or else it would be a $75 charge for each appointment and if we decided not to return as customers it would go to collections to be paid. Absolutely ridiculous that you can't reschedule an appointment easily when life happens. Absolutely never returning, what a disappointing experience.

I had the worst experience with them as a 1st time patient I went in simply for and eye exam with my vision insurance. They required my medical insurance tho I'm already under the care of a specialist and all I needed was a glasses prescription. They made me do a medical exam and charged me $40 for that plus another $52 just to get my prescription! So I paid $92 for Something I've never paid more than $15 for! They kept saying my insurance wasn't valid so I had to call blue cross on my own just so they could see it is valid. This whole place was a joke and I won't ever go back here!

After moving away from Amarillo I've struggled to find an eye dr who has the same kindness and dedication to their patients that Dr. Weir has. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Weir regarding concerns my previous eye Dr got my prescription wrong and issues with the contacts. She confirmed my concerns, explained why I might be having issues with the contacts I received and then fixed the issue by ordering me the right prescription and better quality contacts. After this visit I realized she's worth the 3 hour drive to make sure I get the best treatment and best quality of products possible. I highly recommend Dr. Weir if you want a positive review experience.

Amazing! From the front staff to Dr. Chafin it was all around amazing! It was my son's first contact exam/trial, and they were so patient with him, reassured him and went over it all! WITHOUT charging me a $109 "contact lense training fee" like another place wanted to! He even answered a question about my contacts for me not even being the paying patient! We are switching our whole family to Dr Chafin now!!!

My husband, my mother in law and I have been seeing Dr. Chafin for close to 15 years. We all absolutely love him. We are all elderly and mother in law has Alzheimers so it was very convenient for us to go together for our appointments. It seems there is a policy change in their office and they will no longer accommodate us unless we pay $50. Otherwise we have to make separate appointments on different days. Such an inconvenience for us trying to work around our schedule and other appointments. I understand the $50 is a credit on the books but Medicare pays our bill directly to them so that money will just sit there on their books. I understand implementing new policy with new patients. I don't think we - as long standing clients - should be treated this way. We have never missed an appointment. You have just lost 3 long standing clients.

I took my twin grandsons to their eye appointment and was so impressed with Dr. Weir and her assistant that I made an appointment for myself. One of the boys is mildly autistic and can be a bit challenging, but they were better than great with both of the boys and were meticulous about their eye exams and somewhat unusual prescriptions. They will make sure to get your child, or you, the correct lenses for your eyes.

We LOVE Dr. Weir! She is patient, kind, & very knowledgeable! Great with children and the for the whole family. The office is very clean, and I very much appreciate the extra precautions they are taking to keep patients and their staff safe and healthy. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an optometrist. So happy that we found her.

Dr. Weir is absolutely amazing and has so much patience with my 6 year old son. I love how she takes her time building relationships with her clients and makes everyone feel welcome. Highly highly Highly recommend Dr. Weir and her expertise!
