We love Broome Optical! Doctor Hoang takes care of our entire family and she is fantastic with our kiddos!
I should also mention, my wife and I are not easily satisfied with our eye wear... The amazing staff at Broome Optical went above and beyond to ensure we found what we were looking for when browsing their incredibly large and diverse selection of glasses.
I had a great experience at Broome Optical getting my new prescription glasses. Cat was the person who helped me, and she was absolutely fantastic--very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the whole process. She made sure I found frames that fit perfectly and matched my style.
I was really impressed with the wide variety of prescription frames and sunglasses they offer. They have all kinds of brands and options available, from affordable choices to higher-end designer styles, so there's something for every budget.
The entire staff was professional and welcoming, and the process was smooth from start to finish. I highly recommend Broome Optical if you're looking for quality service and a great selection of eyewear.
I used to love going here. They stopped taking my insurance so i had to go elsewhere, well they accept it now, tried to go again and the receptionist was so rude, i work nights so i stopped in as a walk in at 3:30 and she said (rolling her eyes) "it's so late we don't take walk-ins this late"
I asked if she could make an appointment for me or when i could go as a walk in soon, she said not till two weeks.
Sad they lose focus of how to treat the costumers, after all if we all stop going there they'll have to close doors. I went elsewhere and was seen the next day and was treated so good!
What was scheduled as a routine eye exam, worth a $10 dollar copay under my insurance, turned into a nasty medical billing that will be much higher. i was asked by the tech and the doctor if i was experiencing headaches, to which I answered "yes, but I believe its due to work stress and coming off a medication". and with that gentle utterance of the word "headache", it was coded and billed as a medical visit with a disclosed cost rather than a $10 dollar copay for a routine eye exam. Bear in mind, no doctor refereed me there for headaches. i told the receptionist, tech, and doctor that i am here for an eye exam and to file my new insurance for future visits. yet the doctor fixated on the mentioning of my headaches and ran with it. its no secret that medical claims are often more expensive than vision. I expressed to both the tech and the eye doctor that i believed the headaches were sourced by work stress and weening off a medication. the deliberate effort to siphon more funds out of me rather than to provide quality vision care is absolutely disgusting. if you make the mistake of coming here, lie to them about any possible symptoms that could relate to medical. otherwise, they wont preform any medical treatment, screenings, or tests, and will bill you as if they did and extract much more money from your wallet. its not technically illegal, but just because something is legal, doesn't mean that it is ethical. Broom Optical is not serving the people of Amarillo well by sneakily listening for keywords that allow them to bill you more without providing any additional treatment. $10 dollar copay is now going to be significantly more despite the only thing being done is the eye exam. stay far away from this place if you value your time, money, and eyes.
Always friendly and helpful at Broome Optical! Dr.Nossaman and their opticians have fitted my contacts and glasses and I'm always very happy with them. I highly recommend Broom.
Dr. Nossaman always presents kindness and concern. He explains the results of my test and makes it clear what I'm seeing on the screen looking at my eye. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.
Over the past few years, the service at Broome Optical has generally been great and deserving of a high rating. However, I've consistently had issues getting my lens axis aligned correctly. It might have something to do with the small peephole eyelet or some kind of obstruction -- I'm not sure.
Even after patiently working with the staff through four different adjustments over the past year, I was told on my last visit to "give it a few weeks" and see if I'd just get used to it. Unfortunately, tilting my head 35 degrees to the right to see clearer isn't something I can or should have to "get used to."
Then, at the end of October, they introduced a new $45 fee for cancellations made within 24 hours of an appointment. That would be fine if they had notified me of the change before my appointment the day after introducing it. I had to cancel an appointment two hours prior due to work obligations at a construction site and was told the fee would be waived since the new policy had just gone into effect the day before. However, when I arrived for my rescheduled appointment, I was charged anyway for a "no call/no show."
That was the final straw added to my building frustrations with my experiences there. Goodbye, Broome Optical -- I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Been a customer here for 25 years Used to be a good place, but now it seems the personal touch is gone , lot of waiting time, lot of newer optometrist that don't seem to listen to customers needs. No longer recommend this place. Daughter complained about prescription being too strong(dizzy). Was told will have to pay for another exam since it was a 30 days since last exam.Ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses, was told the tint would be matched,, after 3 times could not get it right, these pictures show difference. Don't recommend this place, become greedy and not so great service as once was
