Texan Eye

My experience was very positive! I was in and out quickly and was able to choose frames and order them in a matter of minutes. Super easy process. Doctor was knowledgeable, as well and listened to any comments or concerns. They told me that frames took 2 weeks at the longest to come in and I received the call today that they came in and it's been exactly a week and a half since they were ordered. In regards to the phone system, I made my appointment online and within the hour I received a follow-up call from a receptionist confirming the appointment. I have not had to call directly so I have not had the experience of the phone system, but the online system seems to work great. Also, if it's your first time going to Texan Eye, they offer all of the initial paperwork online specific to the doctor you are seeing so that once you arrive you are able to go straight in to see the eye doctor.

We've been coming here for years. I have never experienced such rudeness & unprofessionalism from the ladies fitting for the glasses. The first visit the lady with the long dirty blonde hair didn't even get up to assist (my son had a prescription that the glasses have to be the right frame or he lenses won't fit.) Now when we went to pick up his glasses & it was also time for my daughter's eye exam, the lady with the short dark hair was very rude. She was in such a rush to hurry us out that she didn't even give me a copy of my daughter's prescription. While the Dr.s are great, the overall customer service is very poor.

Poor patient service. Had to wait 2 days to get an appointment for an eye issue (not an exam). They do not offer emergency appointments as the "waiting will cause an unpleasant experience". The the day before the appointment, when I returned home from work at 6:30 pm, there was a message on my answering machine indicating that I would need a referral for my 8:00 am appointment the following day. Had they called one of my other contact numbers (which they have both my work and cellphone number in their file), I would have been able to get a referral and keep the appointment. Will be seeing my medical doctor to treat this eye issue and will be changing eye doctors.

The doctors and their helpers were nice but I have been treated very rudely by the ladies at the front counter on two occasions. When I asked to try my new trial contacts on before I left she told me to go in the bathroom. I wanted to try on because my prescription wasn't right last time which is fine I have a toric lense and it is not easy prescription hence why I wanted to try on. Especially since it's hard to get a hold of anyone on the phone.

A simple eye appointment with Texan Eye is ok... If you ever need to contact them afterward, good luck! The Bastrop number is a number to a call center, you have to wait forever to speak with someone. They will then foward you to someone's voicemail, where you will leave several messages and no one has the courtesy to call you back. We have been unable to get contacts for our teenage daughter after she had pink eye. 1-800 Contacts cannot even get a hold of them to get an approval for contacts. I have demanded to speak with a manager hoping that she can help push this along (still have had no luck). We are working parents and do not have hours to spend on the phone with this place. Texan Eye has left us very frustrated and we will be switching to a facility that can meet all of our needs and can provide service to their customers.

The doctor I saw was GREAT! However, if you want to call back and order contacts....FORGET it! It goes to call center. IF you get a live person they forward you to a voicemail and it's anyone's guess what location you are leaving a message for. And when you leave a voicemail...you can forget a call back - even when you request one...THREE days in a row....

Horrible! I had an appt. for 9am and called to say I was running a little late around 9am. The receptionist/front desk girl said "You can be late until 9:15am ." I arrived right at 9:15am exactly. The receptionist said "You are late, it is 9:16am, you need to reschedule." I said "If I have to reschedule I will not be back." she repeated "It is 9:16am, you have to reschedule your appt." My husband said "I need to speak to your office manager" I left as I was upset that she counted ONE minute as being late! They need to understand that sometimes people are late for various reasons like traffic, or having to find a sitter for a child with disabilities, ect. Sometimes things are not under your control and you do the best with what you got! After all, if it wasn't for the customer/patient they wouldn't have a job! ONE MINUTE.....unbelievable!

wow...unbelievable!!! while doctors are great, I'd rather drive all the way into Austin than to drive just a few miles down the road. That is pretty pathetic!!! the front office "ladies" (trash) are horrible!! people standing waiting to be help and they are their laughing amongst themselves! they have NO CUSTOMER EDIQUETTE!! have no idea how to be PROFESSIONAL!!! and if the manager is still some "guy" he's worthless just the same. has no back bone what so ever!! I'm putting 1 star only because that's what I have to do to be able to post. It's really to bad its local and I would love nothing more but to keep it local! poor, poor service and management!!
