Didnt want to put one start but had to.Very unprofessional the lady who was my first point of contact was just having an attitude because she was upset about a coworker. Which we as patients shouldn't even know. They don't tell you anything like if we are a bother we had an appointment. Then the doctor was just as worse I'm not sure if it was because there was a bad vibe in the office but it's no excuse I wasn't even told about my daughter diagnosis. I do not recommend if you want some type of customer service.
I have been going to Dr. Terwillegar for most of my adult life and refuse to go anywhere else. I have a severe astigmatism and most optometrists charge a minimum of double what he charges for an office visit for both a contacts and glasses prescription. I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen, and I've never sat in their office for longer than 30 minutes total to do everything. He's thorough and to the point, his office staff knows what they're doing and they are very efficient, and you can't beat the cost if you're cash pay.
The optometrist is kind and wonderful, but the techs consistently seem to be unhelpful and without patience or basic compassion. All three of my interactions with them have been strained, with them being unwilling to do basic tasks. During my initial interaction, I had given them my insurance information that is covered by my father's place of employment. Using my name instead of his, she informed me that she couldn't find me. I stated that my name would not be on the account, to which she responded that I should call HR - instead of her just typing in the correct name. I had to physically visit the office to correct this. Upon my arrival, the tech was sitting on her phone and would barely look at me. After the paperwork was complete, she took me back for initial screenings. I was visibly upset and in tears as I struggle with eye exams, but instead of stopping, she kept going and did not once mention that my tears could affect my testing (which the optometrist later told me). When the other tech brought me contacts to be fitted after the screenings, she left me to figure it out on my own (I have only worn contacts once about 12 years ago). Only after I asked for her to show me how to do it did she offer to help, and in a very short-tempered manner. On a positive note, I dropped a contact down the sink one day after my appointment and called to see if I could get a replacement and they agreed to give me a second. However, they then hung up on me during that phone call and did not call back - so almost a positive experience. I called back to continue figuring out if I would be able to pick up the second contact and she acted like she never hung up on me - so, yikes. If you can help it at all, I recommend going elsewhere. I work in customer service, and I know that everyone has bad days, but this is just not okay - especially when it affects your health.

Dr doing eye exam was ok, but here is the problem... waiting for trial contacts. Waiting for trial contacts. Still WAITING for trial contacts A MONTH LATER.
If you need regular old eyeglasses, okay. Come here.
IF YOU ARE COMING FOR CONTACT LENS... run the opposite direction like your hair is ON FIRE!!!!
I made an appt for this past Saturday and also needed a referral to a eye specialist due to some medical conditions I have, and the staff and doctor were very friendly , efficient, and an overall great experience .
Called multiple times during the day to schedule an appointment, I decided to stop by, after school, since they didn't pick up the phone all day, just to be told by (I guess) the receptionist that they were closed at 4:23PM , I asked Why and she replied "We close after our last appointment, you can call us in the morning" and she walked away from us. If I was planning on scheduling here, this totally changed my mind.
My husband, my daughter and my self went for a eye exam. Dr. Vanlaningham was so incredible. Huge thank you we can see. Bre, Ashley and Lala theses ladies are the absolutely the amazing!!
Thank you all for the Best customer service!!
The staff is unbelievably rude and unprofessional and the techs will mess with your prescription like if they were the doctor. Never go here. I came in and I had to wait until the girl at the front desk was done with a personal call on her cell phone, I could tell it was a personal call too because she was talking about her kids, I and another patient had to wait until she got off her cell phone (she kept talking once we were in) to even check in or tell why we were there. The tech also kept changing my prescription (without the doctor's knowledge) to the point where I no longer knew what the doctor actually prescribed since one of them wrote the physical prescription instead of the doctor, the girl writing it wrote his name on it. First they changed it without even telling me when was supposed to get the initial sample to see if it was correct, It was only after I put them in and noticed everything was still blurry and told them, that they told me they changed it because they didn't have the strength I needed. I then had to wait a week with contacts that did not even work for me for them to order the right ones. Then when the right ones came in it turned out they changed the prescription again. I still had issues seeing and was told that "ild get used to it". I never did, I have also been wearing contacts for 17 years. I never had issues with doctors or the contacts before going here. I called back several times to see if they could check it since I still can't see properly, eventually I was able to come and have it checked, but instead of the doctor checking the contacts (even right after I got them the first time) it was the rude tech. I have never been anywhere where the doctor did not do this. I told the girl I wanted to speak with the doctor since my prescription has been changed so many times and I wanted to know what he initial wrote for me. She lost it at this point, yelling that she had been doing this a long time and does this more than the doctor...apparently she knows more than the doctor and thinks it is okay to change people's prescriptions without a license. She continued to make rude comments to me the entire time I was there where if I could see I would have just walked out. The doctor ended up dilating my eyes and before it was done I was told I would still be able to see with my contacts since I had to drive home. Well I couldn't see to drive home and I had come alone. Five hours has passed and I still cannot see properly, I am having to use reading glasses on top of contacts to remotely see anything. I am pretty sure now I will just have to pay to go to another eye doctor so I can get it done correctly. I paid to see a doctor and have a doctor do my prescription, not some unlicensed people messing with something that goes in my eyes. I have had so much problems since I went here and I have never had issues before.
