I was referred to Dr. Abilmouna for a glaucoma evaluation by my optometrist. I was told I was suffering from dry eye, which I had never been diagnosed with in the past, he recommended plugs for my tear ducts as my insurance would pay for them, and needed to purchase expensive vitamins that could only be purchased through a certain vendor. Furthermore, I was also told not worry about the glaucoma and that I needed my cataracts removed. We did not discuss the cataract removal, yet my medical records showed that I had agreed to a laser procedure. Everything seemed off, Dr. Abilmouna spent less 10 minutes with me and when I asked for my medical records I found inaccurate information. In fairness to Dr. Abilmouna, he did call me once I questioned the charting on my records but did not have any answers for my concerns. In going back to my optometrist to discuss my appointment with Dr. Abilmouna, I was told that I still had 20/25 vision and there was no need to rush into a cataract surgery. I will not be returning.
