Pearle Vision

Dr. Benning is old school doc, but he is extremely experienced and no BS mentality. Within 5 mins he was able to identify my eye issues and the type that don't force me to buy anything I don't need. I always go back to him for my annual exams and checkups. Awesome bedside manners, always good conversations and listens/answers to any questions or concerns I have. I wish there are more doctors like him unlike these other new ophthalmologist /glass stores just care about making a profit. A++++

Dr Benning is absolutely fantastic!! I found him to be efficient effective and super personable. If you are looking to get a current contact prescription at a reasonable price I can't recommend Dr Benning highly enough. Most places I called wanted $200+ to do an exam and prescription but it was only $120 here. Fair warning It took a week for them to order the trial pair of contacts and get them in. I never got a price for additional contacts or glasses. So if your looking for a cheap eye exam that is done well come here and see Dr Benning you won't be disappointed.

I had contacts exam at this location. The doctor is friendly and knowledgeable but the receptionist Betty has a rude tone and very unwelcoming. This place gave me written paper prescriptions, how outdated! While this bothered me, this is a minor issue. Now, I called them to order contact lenses through them and Betty was asking for my insurance info again in her rude voice...they do not have a copy of that..really? Again, I need to have my member ID and all my info. Last 15 years I have worn contacts, any provider was able to look up my info from my personal details, but not this place. They need my member ID from my insurance, which they should have in the first place because I saw them 2 weeks ago. Come on! If you want to have a good client base, is this how you operate a healthcare business? I can recommend the optometrist but not the place. My first and last time to that place. I would give 5 stars for the Doctor but my experience because of Betty is less than a star.

My review is about the particular optometrist that performs the eye exams here. I have been wearing glasses for the last 22 years of my life and Dr. Benning is by far the best optometrist I have ever seen! He is so kind and willing to listen to and answer all your questions and he does a great thorough exam. I would highly recommend him!

I've been wearing glasses for night vision and for reading far away for several years. I had a great experience when I went 3 weeks ago. Dr.Benning is by far the best optometrist I've ever seen. My new prescription works better than any prescription I've ever had, it feels great to finally see the right way.Dr. Benning and his staff Betty and Teresa were very professional and very helpful during my visit and return visit picking glasses. I strongly encourage if you're looking for a great optometrist to go see Dr. Benning and enjoy your new prescription seeing better than you ever have.

This review is for Dr Benning. He is an excellent optometrist! My wife and I have been coming here for a several years. Dr B is very calm and well mannered with his patients. He does a thorough exam which includes a digital picture of your optic nerve (nothing scary, never any pain). We don't plan to go anywhere else for our eyes. If you live near Richardson, he works there too on beltline. Can't say much for Pearle Vision. I order my glasses and contacts online.

The initial experience and final experience was very unpleasant. The lady that answered the phone was very cold and almost dismissive. She kept calling me by my last name even when corrected. When it was time to choose the frames, she offered very little assistance. The selection was limited. Saw a few frames that were okay but didn't quite fit. When I asked if they could be adjusted or if they had longer arms, I got a quick and curt "No." When I picked up my glasses, I asked for a copy of my prescription. The receptionist said she had already given it to me the first time. I told her that I may have misplaced and asked if she could give me a copy. She said no, that's why she gave me the script on my initial visit. She then proceeded to go on and work on what she was working on. Very rude and dismissive. And she had the nerve to give me a comment card when I received my glasses!!! Dr. Benning, on the other hand, was very nice and professional. Was personable and did a good job explaining what he was looking for. Even shared common experience of my hometown (cool that he asked). Would not ever go back because of the initial and final experiences. It's a shame because Dr. Benning was really good.

I have been using this Pearle Vision location for 25 years. Dr. James Benning does an outstanding job, he is personable , and does a through exam in a short amount of time. There is no waiting , he values your time as well as his own. The staff immediately treat you as family. If you don't know them when you go , you will by the time you leave. I highly recommend this Pearle location !!!
