Excel Eye Center Payson

I went to Excel eye center in Payson. The office visit went fine. I was told it would be 1 and a half to 2 weeks to pick up my glasses I Iive 30 minutes away and have mobility issues. I called after 2 weeks and they said it would be another 3 or 4 days. I called on wed, she said I could pick them up thurs. am after another appt. So I went thursday to pick them up and they were closed. I called and left a message. She called me back and apologized be cause they decided not to open until noon. that day. So I had to go back on monday, not realizing they were closed. I called today and asked them if they would please mail them to me. She said they would, but I would have to pay for it. Mind you, I had already paid more than 700$ out of my own pocket for everything. They still would not make the effort to pay the minor amount out of good public relations. I would not ever go back, nor would I advise anyone to patronize this eye center.

Dr. Loveless is not only the best eye doctor I have ever seen, he is the absolute best healthcare provider I have ever seen, hands down. He is kind, thorough, and goes out of his way to make sure your issues are addressed. Please do yourself a favor and see him. His staff is awesome too!

I was going to set up my appointment because I've heard great things about the Payson location! But when I called the receptionist, Jasmine was extremely rude! I understand we might have bad days, but do not answer the phones with an attitude!

I am extremely disappointed with Excel Eye Care's in-house glasses service. I spent nearly $500 on glasses, and I was promised that they would be fully covered under a 12-month warranty if anything went wrong. This warranty was a major factor in my decision to purchase the glasses. Two months after my purchase, the lenses started popping out regularly, causing scratches. When I raised this issue with Excel, they dismissed my concerns, attributing the problem to "loose screws" and insisting that the frames were fine. They reattached the lenses and sent me home. However, the problem persisted when I got home and removed my contacts. Both lenses and the screws holding them in place kept popping out. Upon closer inspection, I discovered a crack in the threaded housing, which explained why the screws couldn't secure the lenses properly. I temporarily fixed them using a wire from a bread twist tie, but during a carnival ride, a lens popped out again and was lost, becoming irretrievable. When I contacted Excel to claim the warranty for this unfixable problem, I was shocked to be quoted $240 for repairs: $35 for the frame, $35 for the existing lens, and $170 for the lost lens. The same employee who sold me the glasses and promised the "For Any Reason Replacement" warranty was dismissive and asked if I had that promise in writing. They insisted that the warranty didn't cover my situation because I didn't have the promise documented. Excel's handling of this situation has been highly disappointing. They refused to honor the verbal warranty assurance, which contradicts the written warranty. The 500% markup for a replacement lens is outrageous, especially given that their employee worsened the defect by not providing a proper solution when I first reported it. I believe that the responsibility to replace the defective medical device lies with the manufacturer. They are required to test and ensure that the durability of the eyeglasses at a minimum complies with ANSI Z80.1 as stated in: Utah Code 58-16a-801 Contact lens and ophthalmic lens seller or provider. May distribute eyeglasses in Utah if the business...(2)(b)(v) Complies with the impact tolerance standards based on ANSI Z80.1 American National Standard for Ophthalmic - Prescription Lenses. I understand the durability requirement test to mean that the frames need to be able to hang off the lens before, during, and after impact tests if the lens is still in one piece. These frames clearly fail, and that failure is responsible for correcting the loss--not me. Despite my frustrations, I want to acknowledge that Dr. Loveless provided a good eye exam experience. For that, I give 2 stars. However, I strongly advise against purchasing glasses from Excel Eye Care due to their inadequate customer service and failure to honor warranty commitments. I will never go to this place again! We took my 13 year old daughter in for her first contact lens exam. We had to wait for 30 minutes before we were even called back into a room then we had to wait an addition 20 minutes before the Doctor came in. He fitted her for contact lens but instead of giving us her RX we had to go back again! We waited another 35 minutes then he was in the room for us for less than five minutes then he finally gave us a copy of her RX. We get a bill from the insurance and they tried charging our insurance $457 (of course they wouldn't cover that) and us $120! I can understand being charged that amount if you have cataracts or some kind of eye disease but this was a 13 year old with very healthy eyes and a very low RX! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone if you are going in for just a tradition eye exam for you or your children. I have never paid more than $120 for an eye exam and I always get my RX the same day.

The doctors and exams are great. Getting the glasses however has been such a hassle it almost has made me not want to go there anymore. No call backs when they said they would, on and off communication on where they are and picking them up. They were supposed to send them to our address and it has been such a run around on where they are and then IF the location is open that day. I wouldn't recommend ordering glasses from them
