My experience?! Nothing short of amazing! The staff was warm and welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable, and I walked out of there feeling like I was truly cared for. Would expect nothing less out of Intermountain. Thank you all for obviously loving what you do and taking such good care of me
This is for my husband who is the patient. We were extremely happy with the staffs efficiency as well as the doctor who went over all of the results and got us scheduled within a week to see a specialist. Very impressed.
Dr. Barnes always has a friendly bedside manner, is knowledgeable, and explains all details in a way my child & myself can understand. He must be well loved by so many others, he is booked out for several months. :P He is worth the wait.
Dr. Barnes and his team were awesome. I felt a little silly for the reason I was going to see the eye doctor, but Dr. Barnes was very kind and didn't make me feel dumb at all. I would highly recommend seeing him.
I just had the most unexpected experiences with this office. I answered a call from an unknown number this morning, and a staff member from this office was calling about a referral for my child.
She started by saying how glad she was that I answered because she had told her co-workers she'd tried calling me five times this week and was about to return the referral to the original office. While her tone was bubbly, there was also a hint of annoyance. I replied, 'It's hard to answer unknown calls, especially when I'm at work. It's too bad text isn't an option with healthcare.' I wasn't sure how else to respond to her opening comment.
Her response shocked me: 'I don't understand why you don't have a voicemail. Is that too much of a hassle?' I was taken aback--especially because I do have voicemail (maybe it is full?). After a pause, I said, 'Wow, that was very passive-aggressive. I can't believe you said that to me.'
She quickly backpedaled, saying she didn't mean it that way and was just offering a solution since I said answering calls was hard. Then she said, 'Okay, so are we going to schedule or not?' I replied, 'Actually, I don't want to speak with you anymore. Do you have a manager I could speak with?'
She answered with the same bubbly yet oddly passive-aggressive tone, saying, 'Yep! Her name is [Manager] and her number is [number]. And my name is [name], and you can call her and tell her that I'm a terrible employee and I should be fired.'
This was the quickest, most unnecessarily escalating conversation I've ever experienced. I simply replied, 'That wasn't my plan,' and we ended the call. I'm still trying to process what happened.
I don't want her to be fired, but I felt it was important to share my experience with a manager because her behavior was inappropriate. My concern would be whether this is a pattern--if she often becomes annoyed and treats other patients this way--or if she's going through a situation where she needs additional support.
I called the manager, and she said she would address it. I had hoped she could review the phone call for training purposes, but since they don't record their calls, I trust this review will serve as accountability in the workplace.
We met Dr Sakata today and she is lovely. She got right down to thorough questions to get to know a bit about our Medical History. She put both my husband and I at ease at introduction. We will both be doing a follow up visit in two weeks. Looking forward to it.
It was a very pleasant experience. Nurse Lisa was fantastic - kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and just plain awesome. Dr Tempest is very accomplished and I trust him 100%.
I was courteously greeted. The appointment was acknowledged and prompt, within 5 minutes. Those who attended to me were pleasant and polite. It was a good experience for me.
