I accompanied my wife to her eye appointment. Dr. Carlson was very courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and he took his time to explain everything to us. She felt well taken care of. He went above and beyond. I would highly recommend him for your eye care. As he did the exam, he explained things along the way which put us at ease. His communication skills with patients are second to none.

Dr Carlson is the best doctor I've ever been to. He genuinely cares about patients. He got me into an MRI quickly. I had the MRI and an hour later he was calling me with results and talking me through what was going on and how best to treat my problems. He set up a consult with a neurosurgeon for the next day. He even called a day or two after the consult to make sure that I followed through on it because it was an urgent matter. He's a fantastic doctor and if I ever have any issues that require an ophthalmologist there's no question where I would go.

Dr Carlson has had to give me injections in my eye at each visit. At no time was there any pain or discomfort at the time of the injection or after. He is caring, explains how my eye has progressed, and is efficient without being curt. If I hadn't moved from Utah to Texas, I would be happy to continue to be treated by Dr Carlson.

The worst wait times I've ever experienced at a Dr's office. My wife had a 3:30 pm appointment. It is now 5:00pm, still has not seen Dr. Carlson. This is ridiculous. You need to practice managing your time. This is rude and uncalled for.

I have been a patient of Dr Carlson for about two years. In that time I have seen him just about monthly for shots in my eyes to correct a swelling problem. He has also performed two surgeries on my left eye. My right eye has responded to the medication but my left eye has not. He has spent a lot of time trying to come up with a remedy and trying new procedures to help me see better. He recently had an idea that we hope will help. He sent me to an eye surgeon to perform a procedure to they both think will help. I have always found he and his staff to be very friendly and professional and to do all they can to hel me.

Dr. Carlson is very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. He helped my young son when he was hit in the eye and experienced trauma. He is very good with children and takes the time to explain everything. We had a very good experience with Doctor Carlson and highly recommend him!

I was very excited to go see Dr. Calson, based on other reviews on this site, but unfortunately my experience was less than stellar. I met with Dr. Carlson a week earlier to go over all of my allergies and to ensure that he was briefed on my condition because my original Ophthalmologist had closed his practice in St. George and recommended Dr. Carlson as a replacement. At the appointment when the injections were to begin, he did not familiarize himself with my chart and injected pain medication that I am highly allergic to. When I pointed out the error, instead of being apologetic, he tried to justify and downplay the seriousness of the situation. He just told me to remind him next time and left the room. I have had to go to my primary care physician everyday for a week while they adjusted medication and monitored my progress to overcome the side effects of the injection. Not once did Dr. Carlson or anyone from his office contact me to inquire about my well being or offer any suggestions to counteract the effects of the drug. Their approach was less than professional and bordering malpractice. Needless to say, I will not being going back to his office and will be traveling to SLC to see my former physician.

I was welcomed by the friendly staff the moment I arrived. Everyone was genuinely helpful and very knowledgeable. Dr. Carlson was great! He gave me a quick and informed diagnosis, which enables me to be "proactive" in preserving my vision right away. Thank you, all of you, you're absolutely wonderful!
