Walmart Vision Center- Derek Ames O.D.

Dr. Ames is truly the best--especially with my kids! He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and always takes the time to answer all my questions. For the first time in my life, I finally have the right prescription. A stellar doctor all around!

Dr. Ames loves his job and provides the best care possible to his patients. My entire family uses Dr. Ames; we have more faith in his abilities as a Optometrist than the Ophthalmologist we have seen in the past. Dr. Ames listens to our concerns with genuine concern and gives expert advice to enhance our vision. Dr. Ames stays current with best practice and is the expert to go to for all vision issues. Until recently, Dr. Ames was not able to take Select Health or Medicare; this has now changed. Prior to taking my insurance, I still paid out-of-pocket to see Dr. Ames; he is that good! I saw Dr. Ames when he was affiliated with another practice and he was wonderful then; don't equate Dr. Ames ability to provide world-class ophthalmic diagnostics and treatment to the fact he is located inside Wal-Mart. Dr. Ames is a practitioner, I consider, to be best in his field; this opinion of Dr. Ames is comes from a registered nurse.

Dr Ames is an excellent optometrist and you can't beat the Walmart prices. I have gone to Dr Ames for 5 years now and he always takes the time to perform a thorough exam and patiently answer all my questions. I've also taken my two teenage boys there and one wears contacts. When he needed a different prescription, Walmart bought back the unused boxes. Honestly, the exam prices are about 1/2 of what you'd pay at other offices. I would highly recommend that you go here for your eye exam.

I love Dr. Ames. He as been my eye doctor for many years. He takes time out for each client to personaize with and he is GREAT with kids. I just got insurance I cancan use with him and hate to go to some new doctor.

I was leery of going to an Optometrist at Wal-Mart, but Dr Ames was amazing! I have never had such a thurough exam. He was friendly and informed me of my eye issues in a manner I could understand them. I am actually looking forward to going back.

Dr Ames is consummate professional and takes great care of me and my family. Have loved my glasses I got from him and his advice was excellent!!
