I have been wearing glasses for 27 years and this is the best experience I have EVER had! Melissa has a stylish selection of eye wear to choose from. She was very patient, helpful and knowledgeable when I was choosing my new frames. She is extremely skilled and was focused on getting my new frames to fit me just right. I have received more compliments on my new glasses in a few weeks than I have received in a lifetime of being a glasses-wearer. I do not live in Floyd, but you can bet I will be traveling back to Eye Candy Optical whenever I need a new pair! Thanks, Melissa!

I purchased a pair of high end sunglasses from a retailer in Atlanta, but hated the non-polarized lenses. Melissa ended up ordering several polarized lens options for me (different tints, mirror coatings, etc.) so I could pick which I thought would be best for my new frame. In the end, I went with what she deemed the best look and function. Once the lenses were ordered, she did a same-day turnaround on the switch out and I now have a pair of custom sunglasses that truly have the best optics I have ever had. I can't recommend her enough for the personalized service I received in using her shop.

I was glad to find this gem of a place in Floyd. The optician was already known to me from the last place she worked, so I was excited that she had opened her own optical shop in my town. I have purchased two frames from her and she recommended some lenses for my prescription that work perfect. Eye Candy Optical provides me with both quality frames and lenses, plus the expertise of the owner/optician and her attention to finding the perfect solution for my vison needs, is unsurpassed. I have been wearing glasses for over 3 decades but never had an experience that was as informative and eye opening as I found at Eye Candy Optical.

I live in Roanoke and there are many places to buy glasses. I looked and looked for something fun and unusual, and couldn't find anything that jumped off the shelf at me. However, while visiting Floyd, VA, I walked in to Eye Candy and not one, but TWO pairs of frames screamed at me. For such a small store Eye Candy has a great selection ... and even more in catalogs! I was disappointed to learn that I couldn't use my eye insurance there, but I was pleased to learn that I paid less there than I would have in Roanoke WITH my insurance. Melissa was a joy to work with - her calmness and expertise and willingness to help me get the perfect frames, lenses and fit were outstanding! Not only does she personally care about her customers, but she cares for her community as well. When I was there purchasing my glasses, she had a plastic tote by the door collecting food donations for the local food pantry. When I am in Floyd, I always make it a point to stop by Eye Candy to see what is new (there is always room for more cool facial jewelry!!) ... and to say hi to Melissa.

I am so thankful I found Melissa at Eye Candy Optical. I have never had anyone spend the amount of time that she does to make sure that you find the perfect frame and explain to you why certain things work for different people. Her selection of frames is honestly the cutest frames I've ever seen in a shop. Usually shopping for glasses seems so expensive and I just ended up getting the "least ugly". With Eye Candy there were so many cute frames, I had a hard time deciding between them!! I have also never been successful with prescription sunglasses and Melissa took the time to find what was right for me, and now I LOVE them!!!! The BEST MONEY I have ever spent on glasses or sunglasses. I will never go to another glasses shop as long as Melissa is around!
