Lisa was absolutely amazing! She made the entire appointment such a great experience. We had each other laughing the whole time & she made everything feel comfortable and easy. Her friendly and positive energy really stands out. If you're looking for someone who makes patients feel at ease, Lisa is the one to see! Will definitely be seeing her again (:
Front desk is very nice and they do their job well. The actual optometrist, Dr. Ali, barely speaks to you, rushes through the appointment, and makes you feel shame for even having any concern. She barely addresses your concerns. I shouldn't have trusted a chain location, just do yourself a favor and find a self owned practice. Being rushed and sent on your way as fast as possible is a trend for chain healthcare locations.
One year later, and Cassie and Lissa are still knocking it out of the park. They are friendly, patient, and thorough. I came in during one of the busiest times of the year, January 31st, right before benefits roll over, and never once felt rushed or overlooked. Both Cassie and Lissa were incredibly helpful with selecting frames and clearly explaining how to manage my new prescription.
Exceptional customer service can be hard to find these days, which makes this experience even more appreciated. I'm grateful that, even a year later, I'm still happy to write a glowing review. I'm looking forward to my new glasses and feel relieved knowing I'm in such good hands.
2nd pair of glasses I purchased from this location within a month and Lachmi was superb in each transaction. She also helped me decide between the Best Brand to get for my face frame. Customer service is great and top notch. Thanks to Rachel as well
This place is completely disorganized. Set up an eye appointment because my insurance would give my extra $50 off frames. The refraction process was a complete disaster eye dr completely couldn't communicate clearly the refraction lenses were a complete disaster mess. They miss measured or miss record my current glasses. The dr set the refraction to my "current incorrect perception and it was so burrry. I cannot trust this store with ensuring data is properly recorded or the perception handed to be was properly written down. Nor can I trust the sales to properly summit my order. And one person start to scold me about having an attitude, I was using please though I was annoyed especially after waiting 10 mins for someone to check me out. I bet myeyedr will reply but doubt anything would chance. Also been to this location years ago and they didn't have my information on file. Also during refraction the dr was doing something and getting me to say when it good I never had a refraction like that before. I would not recommend going to this location.
Disorganized walk-in process and poor communication led to a frustrating experience at this location.
I visited the Gainesville, Virginia MyEyeDr location today to order a spare pair of glasses--something that should have been simple since I had met with a specialist earlier this week and my order information was already saved.
I've been a customer for many years and understand that the office was likely busy with the FSA spending window closing. However, the experience was frustrating due to poor organization and unprofessional communication.
When I arrived, I was asked if I had an appointment (I did not) and was directed to the counter. After being assisted, I was told to sit in the front and "jump in" when an eye specialist became available. I followed those instructions and waited patiently, but other people who arrived after me were served first. When I politely asked for clarification on how walk-ins are queued, I received no clear explanation.
The issue wasn't the wait--it was the lack of a defined process, clear communication, and basic courtesy. If walk-ins are handled by a specific system, it should be clearly explained and consistently applied. Staff should also be trained to communicate expectations respectfully, especially during peak times.
This was an outlier compared to my prior experiences, but it was disappointing enough that I chose not to move forward with my purchase. I hope both local management and corporate take a closer look at training and front-desk procedures so other customers don't have the same experience.
I've been going to this location over the past several years, and watched this store team have a constant high turnover rate, however, this current team at MyEyeDr has been nothing but stellar and professional. Today, I witnessed this interaction between a disgruntled patient (Mattybdbz) and a store team member, in which the patient raised his voice out of frustration loudly and repetitively, and was extremely rude to someone that he just met for 5 seconds. The calm demeanor of the sales associate was able to keep a level head and pointed out that he was yelling at her, and I believed she tried to say that she understands his frustrations, all while trying to diffuse the situation. This disgruntled patient should've taken a step back, take a deep breath, and approach the situation a little calmer rather than having an aggressive tone. A 10 minute wait is nothing compared to other places, especially when the store is short staffed on a Sunday. This sweet sales associate was extremely appreciative for my patience and kindness when I checked in on her after my visit. People in this industry, especially the ones on the frontlines, gets the brunt of the verbal attacks, but at the end of the day, they are human beings just like you and me. They don't deserve the abuse. MyEyeDr in Gainesville is always changing, and so far it has changed for the better. I would always recommend this office, and it's professional and polite team. Kindness goes a long way, and they have finally found the perfect team for this office.
I stopped into the Gainesville, VA location today, Sunday 2/22/26 to ask for a simple adjustment on my husband's glasses -- tightening the legs and changing the nose pads. The front desk associate didn't greet me professionally, nor crack a smile, As I handed the glasses to her, I advised my concerns on a repair that was needed/requested and immediately she told me there was "nothing wrong" and "nothing to fix," and then she said the nose pads couldn't be changed there because they were screw-ins and I'd have to go to another location. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unkind. A little courtesy and willingness to help goes a long way, especially in a customer-facing role.
