Based on my own experiences and those of other reviewers, it is clear that they truly work with their customers to make sure they are satisfied--both during the purchasing process and for the entire life of your glasses! When I first walked in, I could not imagine paying the price to upgrade my online glasses to designer frames, but now I cannot imagine anything less than the highest quality materials and most attentive, personalized service that I have found at Carytown Optical. These people are so kind! I'm traveling right now and one of my contacts got messed up, and I was dumb enough to not bring my glasses with me. They very graciously helped me out with an emergency pair of contacts. Also have a beautiful stylish glasses selection :)

My glasses were broken and I came to the store. The original other store that I had bought my glasses from told me there was nothing they could do. Cynthia was super kind and fixed them in about 5-10 mins and they look better and straighter on my face than before they were broken. Thanks y'all!

Carytown Optical is a local treasure. The store is filled with amazing eyeglass frames that are difficult to find anywhere else in the Richmond area. And the customer service is always outstanding. It's so nice to be helped by people who obviously are professionals and are interested in making sure that you get a pair of glasses that are both functional and express your personality. A very positive experience from the minute I walked in.

Went in an hour before closing because the side of my glasses came clean off! Maria was lovely and so fun to talk with, got my glasses back in working condition in fifteen minutes. Just left, but the experience was so lovely I just had to write a review!

I will never shop anywhere else for my glasses! Carytown Optical has the best selection of frames that I have ever seen. They carry unique independent brands and styles that you won't find in other shops. Cynthia and Maria are also genuine, caring, nice people! Maria helped me find the perfect frames for my petite, narrow face. She has a talent for knowing what will look just right and chose many different styles of frames for me to try on. I couldn't be more satisfied with the whole experience. I happily drive down from Fredericksburg for the selection of frames and wonderful customer service at Carytown Optical!

The frames and staff here were amazing! While I did not get an optical exam done here so I can't comment on that experience, the purchasing experience was great. They helped me order a specific pair of glasses I was looking for online and helped me find some comparable frames to help me visualize what it looked like. While they don't except insurance here, which allows them to have the frame selection they currently carry, I found their prices to be very reasonable and similar to prices from another optical shop if you were purchasing glasses without insurance. Highly recommend going here if you are looking for more unique glasses, great customer service and are tired of the usual conglomerate optical shops.
