I have been going to Dudley Optical for my work safety glasses for as long as I can remember. I have been going there at least 25 years as long as I have been working for the City. Mr Dudley is the greatest. He will do anything he can to make sure you are happy with your glasses. If you miss the days where customer service was number one then this is your place. Just go see Mr Dudley and you will love this place.

Due to a sudden work layoff, my vision insurance was ending in 2 days. So I trolled the listing of approved eyeglasses places from my vision insurance and Dudley Optical was listed. I only picked this company because a) he accepted my insurance, b) he carried the frames my insurance would pay for, and c) he stayed open late on a Saturday afternoon to help me out. If you're looking for a slick strip mall nationwide optician who offers 2 pairs of glasses for $99 and has posters of bespectacled models and too many frames to count (even though you don't like most of them) - this is not your kind of place. However, if you want excellent service from a welcoming, knowledgeable, unpretentious local optician with decades of experience, try Mr. Dudley. He had many frames to choose from but not so many that I was overwhelmed. He explained why certain frames fit me better than others and where I want the frames to sit on my nose for the best corrected sight and to avoid pain. Also, he has the simplest paperwork and breakdown of fees I've ever seen. It was an easy transaction - the first time I've bought glasses where I didn't get that feeling I might be paying too much or surprised by extra costs. My glasses arrived within the time he quoted and he was great at fitting them and getting it right the first time. I'm very happy with my new specs! Seriously, Mr. Dudley is a gem.
