Virginia Eye Institute Optical

I usually don't write reviews but I feel obligated to do so. The time management of the office staff is very poor. I came in today to get my daughters eyeglasses adjusted and waited 45 minutes before deciding to leave because I had another appointment. While I am all for great customer service I watch several of the ladies holding extensive conversations, turning around talking to patients behind them ,patients beside them etc. It is important to be mindful of not only the person that you were serving but also patients that are waiting to be served. This is not the first time that I've experience this type of wait at this particular office. I won't be back again.

Brenda, the licensed optician, is fantastic! She is absolutely great at her job. She assisted me in choosing glasses that complemented the shape of my face. Then when my glasses came in, she did THE BEST job of fitting them correctly. She is patient, kind, and really cares about helping people.

This office has outstanding customer services. They greet you with warms smiles and caring hearts. i would truly recommend this office to all of my friends. Keep up the great work Virginia Eye Institute your team is awesome and all that I have encounter have great and sweet spirt and everyone is very helpful and compassion. You Rock!!!

The receptionist was very rude. I was calling to schedule an appointment and midway through the call I withdrew my request as I couldn't spend another moment on the phone with her. She was condescending. I usually give someone the benefit of the doubt when I hear they are off putting at first as they may be having a rough day. However, this was ridiculous and surprising that it continued throughout the call. Hopefully her day gets better and she works on her customer service skills.

Brenda, the licensed Optician is so patient and really spent the time with me adjusting my new glasses. She even adjusted my other old pairs too. It is so nice to see someone dedicated to their job and not just rush thru things. If you are looking to get new glasses, make sure to request Brenda!

My appointments for eye exam and surgery were scheduled successfully by the dedicated staff at VEI.

I saw my doctor at the Huguenot Bridge location this afternoon for some problems I've been having with my eyes. She recommended several products for purchase that the optical shop sells. After I finished my appointment at 4:30 on the dot, I went to the optical shop front desk to purchase the items and was told by the two women working the desk that they couldn't sell me those items because they had already closed out their registers for the day. I don't really understand why, when the optical shop closes at 5:30 PM on Thursdays, the registers were already closed at 4:30. Further, neither of the women offered any alternative suggestions on how to purchase the nearly $100 in products I was hoping to buy. I had to ask if it was possible to have the items shipped if I called another day and even that was met with a great deal of hesitation. I'm without a car for the next two weeks and do not live very closeby and it really would have been helpful if I could have purchased what I needed. One of the women was very apologetic after I initially walked away and came back to get an adjustment of the eyeglasses I purchased there and I appreciated that. I normally wouldn't leave a comment like this, but this is the second negative interaction I've had with the front desk of the optical shop in less than a year.

Great experience. Fast, friendly staff, excellent service. Eye exam was very thorough and painless. Prescription given for new eyeglasses. Trusted facility for many years. Highly recommend.
