Arbor Eyecare - North Bend

I was recently in to get my son fitted for glasses. We did have an outside prescription. I had first called to see if we needed an appointment and we did not, the lovely lady on the phone took our information and insurance to make my son a profile. He is on Medicaid for medical necessity not for financial reasons. This is important to note. We arrived around 4pm, to ensure the office was not busy. I do this on purpose for 1: to ensure our presence is not disruptive to others and 2: my son is medically complex, and germs are a big deal. Lisa approached us and was immediately put off by us even being in the office. At the same time, one of my son's important equipment stopped working, when asked if we could use the wall outlet; Lisa's response was "well patients have to walk through there". I totally understand, the passway is not wide and we have a large stroller with life sustaining equipment, however there are two ways to get the glasses cases, and we just needed to trouble shoot the issue. I do try to keep our large stroller and equipment out of the way of others, I'm not oblivious to the size. But a little grace on her part would have been nice. The next issue was when I handed her the Medicaid card, she looked at it and snarled; We do not accept Medicaid. I get there is a stigma that comes with using Medicaid, again my son is on Medicaid for medical reasons not financial reason. Additionally, the person whom I spoke to on Monday prior to coming in should have mentioned Medicaid is not accepted, rather than taking down our insurance information. The next issue for Lisa was measuring my son's eyes. While yes, he is a baby and still currently immobile, does not me I cannot hold him. From the very beginning it was clear Lisa did not want to help us. I totally understand seeing a baby with medical equipment is strange and overwhelming, a little grace and good customer service would have gone a long way. Instead, I left what was supposed to be a fun experience, getting my son the glasses he needs to succeed, feeling defeated and slighted. I do not expect special treatment in any way; I do expect common courtesy treatment. North Bend is a small town and there are several medical families in town who will not bring their children there if they are not treated well and based of our experience on Tuesday 1/6, it is clear that medical families are not welcome at Arbor Eye Care.

If I could give 0 stars I would , been waiting over 8 weeks for my grand daughters glasses to come in. Called them and they confused us with another customer. Girl on phone not very smart or helpful. Will never use them again , and if customers ask me about eyecare will not recommend them. Its been 3 months since I ordered her glasses , they told us it would take 4-5 weeks.

Attentive, Efficient, and friendly staff. In and out in no time for my annual appointment. It was very easy to make an appointment at a time that suited me. I would highly recommend.

As always, the care at Arbor was friendly, professional and efficient. It was also easy to book an appointment a few days ahead. Highly recommended.

I was able to book an eye exam for my son, the very next day via the website- super easy! We were seen quickly but also felt like they really took their time to assess, run tests and go the extra mile to ensure the best fit and solution for us. Really sweet staff and overall great environment! Loved the ability to try on tons of different brands and styles with a quick turn around time!

Such a great place. Super friendly staff and doctor. They even helped with an insurance issue that was my error. Will be coming back next year.
