Dr. Helmeid was amazing she listened to me and made me feel absolutely comfortable! I finally was able to get a pair of contacts that I can actually see through! She really took her time to understand me and help me get great fitting ones. I'm so happy with this doctor and the receptionists were amazing! Took me 4 years to find contacts that are for me. Thank you Dr. Helmeid!

On April 12 I went to purchase a pair of glasses at Aurora Vision. I selected a pair of Nike and paid $472.50 after insurance discount. 2 weeks later they arrived. After wearing a few days, my vision was blurry. They determined that the wrong prescription was used in the glasses and the bifocal lenses were not put in properly. They were sent back and arrived back two weeks later. Again, they were blurry. It was recommended that I get my eyes checked by the doctor(she was great!). She determined that the material and/or type of lense might be the problem because my old glasses had a slight curve and my Nikes were straight. They needed to be sent back again. I was told by one of the sales ladies that my insurance may not allow a new pair to be made. I told her to call me after she heard from my insurance. She called and told me the insurance would not allow a new pair to be made. She said they would send my glasses to another laboratory and it would cost me another $80. I declined and requested a refund. She told me they would only give me half of my money back; that their policy is the customer must absorb half of the loss. I demanded a full refund. She told me her supervisor would call. I ended up calling the Regional Aurora patient relations director and filed a complaint. She returned my call and the next day I received a full refund. Unfortunately, I will never purchase glasses from them again. I do want to make one thing clear: this situation has nothing to with the eye doctors. They are wonderful and I highly recommend them. They are separate from the vision center. Thank you for allowing me to write this.

Hopefully this will be seen by google. You have the hours listed wrong for the Hartford Aurora Vision Center. It is creating issues. Please correct immediately. Hours are as follows. Monday 9-6:30, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9-5:30 and Friday 9-5. There are no Saturday hours. As for the only other review listed this is not an Aurora issue, but a google error. Thank you!

Their selection of hardware are mixed together for gender neutrality. Congratulations on making it more difficult to find a frame. This applies to anyone of any gender preference trying to find a specific look.
