Something is definitely wrong with their supplier's equipment or the clinics. The glasses and Eyewear make you cross eyed. Never had that issue before. They said you just need to get used to it. Absolutely NOT exceptional service. I go to another eye Dr and said the lens on all our glasses is off making you feel dizzy. I got a pair from them and all is fine. Adam's even sent my wife's pair back with poor results. My sunglasses with prescription, the lens pops out making them worse than a cheap pair at Walmart.
Dr Adam's did his job.
The rest did not, worse experience ever, they cost me alot of money, had to go to another to get the right glasses, lens, frames and fitted.
Need complete training in every way.
Pros: Prescription was correct.
Cons: Customer relations aren't the worst, but could be so much better and wait times are brutally long even when you're the only one there. Will be driving an additional 20 minutes to La Crosse to find another eye clinic my insurance covers.
Went for eye exams for my son and I. Our experience was not good. I don't want to go into details on anyone specifically, but either morale is down there and the person we spent the most time with really does not like their job, or they were just having a bad day... just not friendly or cordial at all... maybe they don't like having to work with people in the morning or at all? I tried my best to lighten the atmosphere and I think I was able to get at least one brief smile out of them with small talk, but that was about it. The other thing was the amount of time it took from when we got there to when we left. My son and I were very clearly the first appointments of the day... no one else was there, and it didn't sound like more than one other person came in during the time we were there, but it still took an eternity, easily an hour and a half and we didn't even pick out glasses (buy online)... this was just the exams for the two of us. I've had glasses my whole life... I know what an eye exam appointment is like and typically how long it takes and this felt extraordinarily slow with several periods of waiting in the room for the next thing to happen. There was a lot of chit-chat out by the front desk during all of the waiting, which definitely didn't help the growing frustration and confusion with how this was taking so much time... I just couldn't wrap my head around what could possibly be causing it to take so long.
Then finally the billing. The only reason I went to this eye clinic is it's the closest one to my house that takes this insurance that I found on their "find a location" website. I gave them this info over the phone and when we were at the exam. I got a bill in the mail, so I go online to my health insurance dashboard and sure enough they billed it to my medical insurance instead of the vision and it got denied. I know it's just a phone call and some logging into insurance dashboards and what not, but I'm feeling a bit annoyed since I told them prior to everything that I had this specific vision insurance. So I call them and explain everything to the first person that answered. They then put me on hold while they get someone else. The next person (I have my suspicions this may be the same person from the exam) answers "Adam's Eye Clinic"... So I say, "Yeah hi, I was just speaking with someone about my insuran..." They proceed to finish my sentence letting me know they did in fact get the call with some background, but you could have fooled me based on their greeting when they picked up the phone. Just very bizarre. After they make it known that they know who I am and why I'm calling there's this awkward silence. So, again feeling a bit irritated at why they are failing so bad at communication, I say, "Okaaaay, so what do you need from me?" They say, "I need the last 4 of your social security so I can see if I can find you in that insurance system." And that's it... they found it and said they'd bill it there. I'm really not a high-maintenance person and kind of feel bad leaving this review, but with the long, unpleasant exam then billing being screwed up and the additional low-effort on the other end of the phone... just not a good experience. Would not recommend. Would love to hear some effort being made in maybe some training? Maybe the crew there needs a morale boost or something?
I had great service and the glasses are nice
Unfortunately, prescriptions for glasses and contacts were not correct. Had to get them corrected at Gundersen Health System eye clinic. Our eye doctor there also reported that several other clients that had gone to Adams eye clinic also had received the wrong prescription.
Extremely disappointed in service. Ask for my PD (pupil distance) used for my prior eye wear purchased from Adams Eye Clinic and was told it would cost $20 to receive the measurement. Please know that there are cell phones app that provide measurement within 0.5mm, if you are not comfortable measuring on your own or by a trusted friend. Lost customer.
I was sent to this clinic from the neighborhood clinic in Sparta, have never gone to Dr Adam's. He was very patient and was able to remove a little stone I had embedded in my eye lid from weedwhipping, turned out great!!
I had a 1045am appt due to mistake made on my prescription due to a transcribe they made. I did not get in for three hours! Other people, who had later appt got in before me? When I got in at 145pm the Doctor spent 5minutes with me!!!
