Shoutout to Dr. Webb's office for an exceptional eye exam: friendly, thorough, and professional!
*I am appalled at the negative posts about their office calling to inform you that they aren't part of your insurance panel though! Just a thought: if the doctor's office calls to tell you they don't take your insurance, maybe thank them instead of complaining. They're literally preventing you from getting financially surprised when you get a bill for no coverage. Remember they're aren't required to verify coverage and notify patients. It's actually a courtesy. Protects you from unexpected expenses and gives you a chance to choose another provider.
I made an appointment for an exam and gave all of my information, including my insurance. They called 24 hours before my appointment and told me their doctor is not actually covered under my insurance. I had already moved my entire day around to accommodate for this appointment. They were very matter-of-fact, no empathy, no customer service, no apologies even though they had given me incorrect information. They offered no solution, just basically "oh well it's not covered" type of attitude. This was a manager mind you. Better training on customer service and policies is needed.
I really like Dr. Webb. He has always been extremely good at figuring out my prescription, which my eyes are changing a lot. I feel like his care about what he does, and getting it right, and his kindness is great. The appts are quicker than at most vision places, which is a positive in my opinion, less wasted time. The technology they have at Walmart is actually often better, in my opinion, and the extra tests run to get it right, I always appreciate his effort. Highly recommend.
The girl that works there was very nice when we went in, but after that was awful. She called and told me it was over $150 dollars when my copay should've been $34. Well "that's what the lab told me".. I called my insurance twice to verify, called her back again, and asked her to call or submit it. She was going to call the lab back and get back to me. That was yesterday morning.. if course it was "if and when" she had time. It is never busy there and now i know why! Instead of charging me my deductible they tried to scam me into paying the difference between retail and insuranse contracted payment. Ordered them today from another provider: Co pay $34.
She was completely rude and I will never go there again.
This is my second time visiting this eye clinic. I filled out the online forms. I had to change my appointment. I received the online forms 2 more times and found my phone number had been changed to place my cell phone on both lines so they could send me texts. I had specifically left my number off the cell number slot to NOT receive texts.
Next I entered for the appointment and was handed more online forms. I then went with a girl to start some pre tests. I refused the "puff" test for glaucoma. She told me I could NOT refuse this test. I told her I could refuse ANY medical test of my choosing. She told me I Couldn't.
The doctor, Doctor Webb, tried telling me it was STATE LAW.
What he failed to mention & I had to tell him WAS There IS Another test ! His employee tried telling me they would stick a device in MY EYE. She lied! He, DR Webb, confirmed there is another test where drops dilate the eye. I have had this test before at other offices and prefer it.
I cannot wear contacts at 47years old due to my extreme dry eye and extreme stigmatism. I have not worn contacts in years.
There was NO reason for the office employee to lie to me and NO reason for them not to give me options. I could have easily chosen to see if contacts were even a possibility again at a different time and paid out of pocket.
Oddly enough when I was using contacts regularly as a young adult the eye doctor had no problem dilating my eyes and checking for glaucoma at the end of the exam.
Very poor experience.
PS. My first experience ended with Dr Webb leaving Walmart vision and my trial contacts being lost. Second strike. I'm moving on.
I waited for over a month for an appointment. Two days before the appointment the office called me to let me know they did not take my insurance. I gave them my insurance information when I made the appointment. The lack of respect for my time and the poor customer service is an indicator for me of general incompetence. The other poor reviews also supports this
Had an emergency need to replace my ripped contact and forgot to pack extra here visiting WI. My Vision center faxed over the prescription and the gentleman at this center went above and beyond in helping me! Lucky for me they had a trial fair! Saved my weekend trip! Thank you so much!!
Went in to pick up a second pair of glasses for my daughter. The woman working was friendly, very helpful and took the time to explain different lenses to me, I think her name was Chris if I remember. Glasses arrived in a few days and she was there when we went to pick them up, made sure they fit well on my daughter, overall a good experience so far.
