Athena Eye Care

This is more of a reminiscing post. Recently while visiting Kolkata, I was crossing the Blind Lane and Athena Eye Care is located in left side of the lane. Immediately remembered coming to meet Dr Suprakash Sanatani (occasionally Dr Paromita too) more than 25 yrs back on a regular basis for my eye check ups (early days of Athens Eye Care). Last I would have visited him more than a decade back while visiting Kolkata, and he performed a laser surgery, and each opthalmologist I had met since then in different cities, always appreciate outcome of that surgery. A very humble individual, and an extremely good doctor, but could be equally strict, if patients do not follow his guidance! We can always depend on his diagnosis and prognosis.

They are very good doctors , very friendly in nature , alwaya talks politely ❤️ ... I had a good experience there 😌

My father used to show them; they treated everyone with a very close feeling, which I saw as a child. Then, when I grew up and went for my own treatment after my father passed away, I was surprised that they recognised my father as a patient from 20 to 30 years ago just by hearing my talk about my father. Really, they are not only doctors but also very good people. Their manners are as graceful and gentle as those of our own people.

I am sharing my experience with the glaucoma treatment of my mother received at Athena Eye Care from the moment she was diagnosed with glaucoma since 2001 ; she was overwhelmed with concern about her vision and the future. However, the exceptional care and innovative treatment provided by Dr. Sanatani . The treatment plan was meticulously explained, and I felt confident in the approach. She underwent specific treatment and noticed a significant improvement in her condition within a few weeks. The intraocular pressure in my mother’s eyes reduced remarkably, and her vision stabilized. I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional emergency eye care treatment received at Athena Eye Care in the year 2019 after a terrifying incident where harpic accidentally splashed into my mother’s eye. At that moment I was confused about where to go but I got Emergency appointment and co-ordination from your staff on that day, from the moment my mother walked into the centre, she was met with prompt and professional care that immediately put me at ease during a very distressing situation. The medical team quickly assessed the severity of the chemical exposure and began treatment right away. Their swift action in irrigating my mother’s eye and administering the necessary medications helped alleviate the burning sensation and prevented any potential damage. Dr.Supratik Sanatani & Dr.Paromita Sanatani were especially reassuring, explaining each step of the treatment process and ensuring I understood the importance of follow-up care. I am happy to report that my mother’s eye healed remarkably well, with no lasting damage or complications. This positive outcome is a testament to the outstanding emergency care provided by the team at their clinic. One of the best doctors, if not the best doctors, that I've ever met. Both my grandmother & father have had surgeries done from them & it has been great thereafter. They are so very approachable & seem to be more of your friends, rather than your doctors. Grateful for their service.

I hv been visiting here for almost 20+ years since my high school days. Had my father’s cataract done here. Both doctors are extremely helpful, patient and polite! I dont remember visiting another eye care through out my lifetime 😀…

Today, 20th Dec, 2021 I went to seek an appointment for my daughter who is 13. I requested the staff at the reception to accommodate any date between 23rd Dec to 02nd Jan as that is her vacation time. She said it is only possible on 3rd Jan. I requested again and pleaded that from 3rd Jan her school re opens. Monday to Friday she has online classes from 8.30 am to 2.30pm. She flatly said then leave it and nothing can be done. I was shocked at her behavior. I would request the Doctors to ensure courtesy behavior by their staff. My wife, son and brother get checked here when the need arises. I have no other alternative than to seek for an another Eye Specialist.
