I'm 74 and needed cataract surgery. I was a bit nervous about it but Dr Ryan Burton and his entire staff made everything so comfortable and easy. I followed their directions and now I am eyeglass free! The surgeries were easy and stress free down to the warm blankets. Every person from check-in to being wheeled out to leave was kind, courteous and friendly! I would recommend them to anyone needing any type of optometry.

Dr. Burton has exemplified all of these, every step of the way. Seeking a second opinion at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute --a world-renowned institution that sees complex eye cases from across the globe--was important for my peace of mind. As you can imagine, the wait time could have been extensive. But Dr. Burton personally picked up the phone and called Johns Hopkins himself to help expedite my appointment--going above and beyond in a way that meant more than I can express. He also wrote a detailed note to my physician there to thoroughly brief him on my case and remained in communication while I was under Johns Hopkins' care. That level of collaboration and continuity is rare--and deeply appreciated. What stands out most is this: he puts his patient's well-being above his own pride when it comes to second opinions. There was no hesitation, no defensiveness--only a genuine desire to ensure I received the very best care possible. That kind of humility speaks volumes about his character. The physician there confirmed that my complication is indeed rare (and when they say "rare," it truly is). What was even more reassuring? He shared that everything Dr. Burton has done--and everything he has told me--is exactly what he would have recommended himself. That confirmation spoke volumes. It is incredibly comforting to know that I am receiving world-class care right here in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Burton's humility to welcome second opinions, consult senior colleagues, and continually stay updated translates directly into excellent patient care. And it shows beyond the exam room--his staff genuinely enjoys working with him. That's the mark of not only a great physician, but a great human being who cares for the whole person and the team around him. As someone who once taught service excellence, I recognize it when I see it. This post is long overdue but deeply deserved. Thank you, Doc.

Had the first of two cataract surgeries - results very good. The process went smoothly and Dr Burton and his staff were well qualified, efficient, and available to answer my questions. Great outcome. I am actually looking forward to the second surgery....

Dr. Burton takes time to discuss potential problems, gives clear information on results of eye exams and answers questions in an easy to understand way. His staff is very professional and treat all with dignity and respect.

Dr. Burton replaced my cataracts with the multifocal lens option last month. My vision is better now that it ever was, I am so stoked! Dr. Burton was extremely attentive and informative throughout the entire process. He was very frank about the surgery beforehand and didn't promise me a rose garden, but it seems I got one! He is an excellent surgeon and I cannot sing his praises enough.
