Eyeglass World

After scheduling an appointment 2 weeks ago, I came 15 minutes early to my appointment today. I walk through the door, no one even looks up or said said hello. So, I stood awkwardly at what I assume is the front desk, (directly in front of the manager who also does not acknowledge my existence) for a few minutes before watching another customer walk to the back and sign in, in a separate area in the back. Having no clue what to do from there, being this was my first experience with Eyeglass World, I followed that customer to the back and realized on my own that's apparently where you sign in. I speak to the woman at the counter who very curtly informs me that my provider is down and I'd have to pay out of pocket and submit a claim. Since no one informed me of this and I wasn't feeling very comfortable paying that much of a difference, I contacted my provider. Yes, the system was down but they don't accept reimbursement claims that Eyeglass World is encouraging me to submit and suggested that I asked Eyeglass world if they'd be willing file the claim later. I explained this to woman at the counter who said nothing, just looked up at me like I was a problem, and shook her head --as though this were lingo that I should understand. "No we don't file claims later." My provider is literally in my ear saying, "other eye care centers do that and have been working with us during this outage all day." So I go to the man in the front counter and run this by him. Eventually the manager spoke to my insurance, they go back and forth whether they can help me or not and ultimately the answer is no. I lost 4 hours of work when I already have an extremely busy schedule to walk away embarrassed and empty handed. After the multitude of text messages that Eyeglass World sends leading up to this date, you would think this might be helpful reminder to send out. "Hey you're scheduled for your appointment today, but we won't be helping you." To add salt on the wound, I get a call 20 minutes later from Eyeglass world. She's confused my appointment time and still encouraging me to return and do this entire thing over again. Why in the perfect hell would I return after being humiliated and basically being duped into paying for the entire thing out of pocket? What a colossal waste of my time.

I got the gray and white Nike plastic frames almost 2yrs ago and now they keep cracking around the lens and on the arm where it goes over my ears. I have had to use super glue in three different places in order to use them. These were not cheap in cost but either they are knock offs or made cheap either way I would expect them to last longer.

The people here are so kind and helpful. Kristie made me feel like family. She went above and beyond to get me what I needed! Mike was extremely helpful also! I had a great experience! Thank you!

Waited 2 hours to get a 10 min eye exam all for nothing thanks to the woman employee D'andria who wouldn't allow me 5 min to get her my frames to be replaced by my insurance provider. They closed an hour early this day but didn't get me back for exam until after "the closing time" and still had people waiting after me...I can understand not helping a new patient that walks in the door after closing but to deny a patient that sat there 2 hours waiting on your staff when the building is still open and operating is unacceptable. Total lack of customer service for an employee and bussiness that's open to the public. Waste of time and money. I suggest finding another provider in the area. Worst experience ever.

We had Kristie helping us and she was awesome! She made sure every question we had was answered and was very efficient with our glasses. She was definitely a highlight and we'll certainly be coming back here again.

My mother bought new glasses here yesterday and she is very happy. She was very pleased to get them same day and the fit is perfect. Thank you Laura and Kristy for being so helpful and friendly. We will definitely visit your store again.

I'm giving them a 2-star review because I did get descent glasses. There were problems though. I set my appointment up two weeks in advance just prior to my insurance expiring. My employer was switching to a new company afterwards. My appointment was set for Saturday morning of August 31st. The person who set my appointment informed me that my insurance was accepted there. The day before my scheduled appointment, I get a phone call telling me that the doctor that will be giving me an eye exam is an independent eye doctor & that she isn't covered by any insurance plans. When I asked if there was a doctor there that is covered under my insurance so I go there immediately after work, I was told that doctor was about to leave for the day. Despite the fact they are open for another 2 to 3 hours. I went in for my scheduled appointment & the those at the front desk were nice & respectful. I took a preliminary test prior to seeing the doctor (to check for glaucoma & other issues). The eye exam was way different than it was when I got examined in 2012. The eye chart had only three rows of large letters & not the traditional eye chart that had multiple rows of letters that got smaller & smaller as you go down. While the eye doctor told me that I had 20/20 vision in one of my eyes, she couldn't tell me what my overall eye sight was. Considering that I paid $77.00 out of pocket for the eye exam, I expected to know what my overall eyesight was. Every other eye exam I have had before, I was able to find out either from the doctor administering the exam or I was able to find out on the report. The report that was handed over from the doctor only had my prescription, not my overall eyesight rating. My insurance did cover the glasses & lenses. Even though the staff was friendly & was very helpful toward me, with the fact that I haven't been able to find out what my overall eyesight was left me feeling like I got cheated. Regardless of what kind of doctor you see, you should be able to ask questions & get answers especially if you're paying for it out of your own pocket. Next time, I'll just plan on going to America's Best or Lenscrafters.

Coming here from Mississippi was a waste of time and Gas, made two trips in two days because of miscommunication. Appreciate if ya'll start disclosing over the phone that "there's no doctors on Monday's"and "doctors on lunch from 12-1 daily" you know for people who come to you from a distant area's
