I asked a taxi driver, when I first came here, about a grey tower, and he apologized and said he did not know. That is because, as the photo shows, the tower is blue. I would not know it because I haven't seen in my right eye, beyond shadows, since my early 20s. Then I came here and got a referral for a routine surgery, which was on the 13th of March this year. The colors and shades I see are beyond imagination. Everything used to be pale and I often mixed green and blue as I did not recognize all shades, but since the brain is a tricky thing I did not know what I used to see and lived looking at everything with one eye. I was moved to tears several times after this remarkable surgery, which was a routine one and lasted only 20 minutes but made such a difference. Apart from seeing all shades of green and blue and the world becoming a more colorful place, I also no longer need any glasses, reading, long distances, or a computer, and my night vision improved immensely. I no longer have to guess where I am at night, I can see and recognize. I might need reading glasses eventually but was told to just buy the supermarket ones as I no longer need a prescription. A truly transformative experience. Dr Timothy Johnson is a rainman. If you are based in Tuscaloosa County, don't go anywhere else other than Southern Eye Consultants My first review: A nice and friendly doctor. I really liked him and trust he will perform the surgery well. Staff and nurses were very nice too.

My entire experience was positive. The staff and Dr. Johnson are so friendly and professional. They are thorough in the examination and made me feel my care was so important. They explained the instructions for my upcoming procedure, the plan of action and follow up completely, coordinating texts, calls and appointments with other doctors.

I cannot express my thanks enough!! I called in with what I thought was a very serious condition and they worked me in immediately. The front desk girl was better than ANY I have encountered. She was genuinely concerned about my issue. I was a new patient and all!! Amazing experience!! I will be a lifetime patient from now on. Dr Johnson was very thorough and helped me understand what was happening. He is also a very genuine person which i have had a hard to finding in the medical profession these days. Thank you so much!!!!

Great experience as in previous years. I'm a diabetic and Dr. Van Johnson meets my needs and explains everything to me at a level that I can understand. Friendly and professional service from check in to check out. Prompt attention and service. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great place.

For the most part it was an enjoyable experience, however when I made the appointment I was under the impression that it was at the location on Jack Warner parkway. I did not know that there was a different location on McFarland and upon showing up for the appointment at the location I knew the staff told me I was at the wrong location. One staff member made a comment that they had been at this location for over a year. My check ups are yearly and no staff advised that there was a different location when the appointment was made. The staff then gave me a flyer that gave directions to the other location, but this flyer was incorrect and did not give complete directions. When putting the address given on the flyer in to a GPS it took you to a location that was not the facility for the appointment. I had to call the office and get amplified directions to the facility. This all made up for a bad start to a Monday morning. Once at the correct location things got better and the appointment went well.

I was able to get an appointment very quickly and was treated well by all the staff I interacted with including Dr. Johnson. I received a very thorough examination and my issue was resolved quickly. I feel like he listened to me and worked to get my vision problems solved with no delays. I would recommend him to anyone with advanced vision problems.

The staff at this office is incredible. So nice and professional. I would recommend this office to anyone. Dr Johnson put me at ease and clearly explained my treatment plan.

Been using Dr Tim for years. He has performed Lasik surgery, Cataract surgery and installed glaucoma drains to correct my severe astigmatism, remove my cataracts and lower the pressure caused by my glaucoma. His whole staff is caring and helpful. I would recommend him a 1000 times over. K Barksdale
