What a remarkable place. The front desk staff were excellent, and the medical assistant was great as well. Dr. Gill was outstanding. They were able to get me in very late in the day with only a two-minute wait. The debris was removed from my eye in under a minute. I was especially impressed that they followed up with me on a Sunday when they were closed to check on how I was doing after the procedure.

I would have given 5 stars because Dr. Gill was caring, thorough and very pleasant to talk to and took great care of my aunts diabetic exam.Everyone was so nice and easy to work with except for the person that checked my aunts eyes before seeing the Dr. He was very impatient when I was translating to my aunt his questions for her and telling me "Its an easy yes or no answer how long does it take to answer". That was so unprofessional and he should not be working in a environment where customer service is being provided for a company. Very bad look for them. I almost didnt want to come back for myself or recommend them to anyone but Dr. Gill and other staff members changed my mind.

I have been having pain for a month on both my eyes. I finished my medication for a sinus and the pain I have been having in my eyes have been very unbearable and uncomfortable. I waited almost a month for this appointment and the dr I saw only took 5 minutes to tell me to see my pcp and it was due to the sinus infection which I'm still having pain 2 days after my appointment. He stated I had 20/20 vision when I clearly didn't I wear prescription glasses so not sure he even took the time to look at my profile. I was hoping to have this pain away and the pressure I feel since the minute I wake up to the minute I go to bed. The pain has not gone away not even with Tylenol or medication for my sinus. So it must be something else going on and I didn't feel like the Dr there took the time to care. It took longer to go through 3 exams than for him to even look in my eyes and tell me there was nothing wrong.

**UPDATE - Proof of how incompitent and uncaring they are - they replied to my review with a phone number that doesn't get answered. It just goes through endless prompts! Absolute scam of a place! -End of update** Absolute garbage of an operation. Even if your insurance is accepted here, you'll pay more out of pocket with insurance than you will anywhere else without it. They lack any kind of customer service. Once they get your money they could care less about you. I suggest not getting an apointment here, as you'll wish you didn't. Only after your appointment they explain how your glasses & contacts order is through a different company - even though it's in the same office! Its just another way to charge you more and to make money off you. Total scam and awful place. I regret ever going here.

These people charge whatever they want, and if they give you an estimate, they'll call you later to charge you double what they initially quoted. I advise anyone considering using their services not to do so; they're a rip-off...

My primary physician sent a referral to Arizona Eye Specialists which included all of my insurance information. I called for an appt and we again verified all insurance information. I waited 3 months for the first available appointment. When I arrived at the office and tried to check in, I was told that the physician did not accept my insurance. When I questioned how this had happened despite all the insurance verification, I was met with a shrug. Make sure you double check everything before your appointment because obviously the office staff does not.

My first diabetic eye exam at an opthalmologist (Glendale location), and I was not impressed. The person who checked me in kept my ID and insurance cards. The tech who took me back had my paperwork and cards, but I had to ask about them. I was forced into a very uncomfortable position to do a couple of initial tests - no adjusting of the equipment, and much less testing than at optometrists I've seen. Then the tech starts talking about eye drops when dilation has not been mentioned once. I've been paying extra for imaging and have not been dilated for years. Apparently they consider it mandatory but no heads up about it. I declined since I needed to take my father to the hospital. The only person who was friendly and informative was the woman who checked me out, but no attempt was made to reschedule. For that matter, no one ever contacted me to schedule after I was referred by my doctor in the first place.

I had an appointment for an eye exam today. They insisted on a medical visit first and I could make a 2nd appointment for an eye exam. They put a fluid in both of my eyes and then gave me a shot in each eye. I questioned what they were doing and was told it was routine for a medical exam. Then they dilated my eyes. I am 75 years old and get eye exams every year since I was young. My eyes are still dilated 8 hours later and blurred vision with my glasses on. I am now informed that eye shots are for diabetics and wet or dry macula degeneration, they are not a tool that should be used otherwise. In all my years of exams, I never had this so called routine. I will be discussing this with my doctor and Insurance Company.
