5 stars for the exam. I needed both a new Rx for glasses and a medical eye exam for some concerns. The student was great and the Dr overseeing my case was informative and descriptive without being too medically confusing. 2 stars for the optical gallery. Staff were less than enthused to help, no support when I was browsing, everyone seemed to pawn me off to someone else so I ended up giving my insurance info to multiple different people. My glasses arrived after about 2.5 weeks with a scratch on the lens. Never should have gotten passed quality inspection. Reordering lenses took 3.5 weeks. They require an appointment to dispense glasses. That appointment only consists of them handing me the glasses and asking me if they need to be adjusted. Why I had to wait an extra 5 days for an appointment for that is beyond me. Get your Rx here, then take it elsewhere to buy glasses.

My son had a great experience. They were knowledgeable, patient & kind. He qualified for a free eye exam & glasses. I would recommend to other people looking for affordable eye care.

Best Optometry in my life Come here and you'll get the most thorough eye exam of your life. It is a teaching clinic so an advanced student will go through the tests and then a teacher will verify their findings. This leads to more thorough testing and discovery of things missed eye docs missed for years. It's amazing to see how we're supposed to. They also overturned the findings of a chain clinic, who's "doctor" sold my girlfriend $500 glasses she didn't need that only gave her a headache. I can't express this enough, this is the place to come from minor check ups to more serious stuff. They gave me back my life after a TBI messed up my vision and gave me migraines-this place is amazing the past 5 years.

They saved someone's vision! A family member was visiting us and complained about eye pain and blurry vision after waking up one morning. He was able to be seen the same day, and turns out it was an emergency that needed immediate surgery. The doctors took good care of him and treated us with compassion and professionalism. We are very grateful!

A year ago, I left two stars review. Since then they have improved the call wait time and response immediately if you leave a message. I am impressed with the service we are receiving. The doctors are very nice and very thorough.

This is for the optical billing department. I never had someone so apprehensive call and basically imply I am not getting my money back after I paid with my own money for my glasses and prescription. On top of that, she was so aggressive in terms of wanting to get an employee in trouble for apparently telling me something "they weren't supposed to." Will not be returning to the optical department. Their billing department could really work on their customer service skills as someone who has worked in the phone department for over 5 years.

If I could give a 0-star rating, I absolutely would. My experience with the Midwestern University Eye Institute has been nothing short of a nightmare. I came here to get fitted for scleral lenses, and despite my initial excitement, I've been sorely disappointed at every turn. The only reason I chose this place was because they accept insurance for these special contact lenses. Little did I know that this would turn into a colossal waste of time and money. From the very first appointment, it felt like they were doing the bare minimum. They showed little interest in addressing my concerns or providing me with the quality care I expected. I meticulously documented every step of the fittings and made them aware of the issues I was experiencing, but it seemed like they couldn't care less. Communication was abysmal, and when it came time for what should have been the final fitting, they failed to even inform me that it was the last one. The end result? A pair of poorly fitting contacts that caused constant discomfort and a buildup of mucus every 2-3 hours. Their excuse? They kept insisting that it was normal. Well, I can tell you from personal experience that it's far from normal. I deeply regret not investing in a more professional and reputable option. The Midwestern University Eye Institute is anything but professional. I strongly urge anyone considering this place for their eye care needs to look elsewhere. This has been a costly and frustrating experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. STAY AWAY!

Every time I have had an eye appointment here I have had great experiences with the student doctors! It can sometimes be a pain dealing with the front desk when calling to make an appointment but don't let that dissuade you from coming here. They have always been helpful and explain everything really well!
