If you want someone to be thorough and truly care about not just your vision, but your eye health, go here! She is the best eye doctor I've ever had and I've never seen so clearly before coming to her almost 4 years ago. She takes her time to ensure the prescription is correct and checks your contacts in your eye to ensure they fit properly. Before, I never realized I didnt see well with my left eye, but she noticed and adjusted my prescription based on how my eye rotates the contact when blinking and I've never seen more clearly in my eye! She's the absolute best. Her husband is super sweet and helpful. Love this place!

Karen and her team host a wonderful experience. They were all very attentive and explained every step thoroughly. For my son's first eye exam he felt at home with them. They were knowledgeable about our insurance coverage and broke down the charges well. As first time patients we are very pleased with our experience and look forward to our future experiences with them.

I called in because I had something stuck in my eye and was in major discomfort. Even as a non existing patient, Karen got me in within 30 minutes. She was caring, gentle and fixed the issue. She went above and beyond offering care after hours if the issue returned. Nothing better than a doctor who truly cares!

Poor communication. Also, I was sold a pair of glasses that were never going to work for my "complicated eye problem" but somehow that is my fault for having incorrect expectations (according to follow up emails I received per my initial review). As a consumer who paid out of pocket for the entire process, I expected a pair of glasses that I could at least see through with no drama or complications. Now I have $600 glasses sitting in my desk drawer and had to revert back to the old ones - that I can actually SEE through.

This truly is a family run and owned business. The optometrist is the matriarch of the family, very-detail-oriented and thorough, catches slight nuances that other doctors miss, and you can tell she cares about her patients. The doctors husband also works there, can at times come across intense or pushy at the worst, but makes every attempt to be helpful, provide the patient with educational and financial information, and offer the patient choices. Their daughter worked there as a receptionist for some time, was friendly, comfortable, fashionable and stylish, and did her job well. I have taken my teenage son and myself to see this doctor for the past few years now because I trust her to catch changes and vision adjustment needs that other doctors and vision centers have overlooked. I highly recommend this optometrist and her office to anyone wanting a thorough contact lens or eyeglass exam, who wants to stay on top of their visual health and wellness, who wants to be offered good prices for eyeglasses and contact lenses, and who wants a comfortable family environment.

The eye exam and optometrist herself wasn't bad. Getting my frames have been an absolute nightmare. I went in March and ordered them that day and it is July 13 and I have not received my frames nor a phone call updating me on what's going on. When I call, I am getting the run around about what's going on with my frames. First, they came in broken then they reordered them and they are on back order. I understand that, I work in an industry with backorders but the fact that no one seems to call and update is absolutely ridiculous to me. The last time I called the gentleman gave me an attitude about giving me an update every week. I don't need them to call me every week but it's been a month since the last time I reached out to them and nothing. No phone call or anything updating me. They gave me a loaner pair of frames which was nice of them but they don't fully fit my lens so my lens move around constantly and the frames have a small crack in them which I mentioned to them when they gave them to me but I just figured I'd have the frames I picked out and paid for shortly so it wasn't a big deal. Nope, It's now been 3 months. I will be calling my insurance to get this disputed as the last time I called Sun Valley Optometry, I asked if they could cancel my frames since they've been back ordered for over 3 months so I could pick out new ones that are in stock and they said they couldn't cancel my order for my frames. I will be going to another Optometrist in the future.

My husband and I have been here a few times in the last couple of years. Both for exams and he to get contacts. Dr. Walker has always been very nice and professional with the exams and makes suggestions based on what she sees. I decided to take our 10yo son there for his first eye exam and it was great! Everything was explained in detail to him what they were doing and what was going to happen. Dr Walker pulled up the pictures of his eyes to show him what they look like and how it works. Dr Walker did an extensive exam on him as she found something that was concerning. She made her assessments and suggestions and very quickly offered a referral to Midwestern University Optometry School as they have better equipment to diagnose if something was wrong. Fortunately, it didn't appear to be. Dr Walker mailed me a copy of the referral as well and it gave full explanation as to what she had seen and was very well written. Not all doctors spend their time writing such detailed letters, nor do they admit as fast as Dr Walker did that they don't have the know how to diagnose a possible problem. Everyone in the office is great and friendly and always professional. I would absolutely recommend this office!

What an absolutely phenomenal experience!! I took my daughter for her first eye exam and also had an eye exam completed myself. They just moved in to a new office and are in the process of renovation and getting settled, but that did not limit anything. Both of our eye exams were extremely thorough and the eye doctor explained every step along the way to my daughter as they went so my daughter knew exactly what everything tested, etc. The Doctor even let my daughter look in my eye with her machine during my exam, which she thought was "so awesome!" (my daughter's words, haha). My daughter ended up needing glasses and all the frames were not on display yet, but again, didn't hinder anything! As she was trying on frames, they continued to bring more and more out that were in the style type she was leaning towards. Pricing was very very reasonable (with insurance, so unsure how it would be without). Overall, impeccable customer service, professional, and very friendly. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an eye doctor!
