ABC Children's Eye Specialists

My son had perfect vision until I was convinced to make him undergo surgery TWICE for his drifting eye. After the surgeries, his vision is terrible. Sees blurry without glasses. It was the saddest thing to see him so young and realize he was never going to see the same anymore. It broke my heart forever. I don't think that the amount of trauma that my son and I went through with these surgeries was worth it. I would not do it again. Especially not the second surgery. His eye was only drifting rarely, but of course, Doctor Brian (Edit: his name is Brendan Cassidy) suggested surgery right away, and I conceded. What I wish they had done is suggested therapy for his eye before surgery, but sadly, that's not what they did. Dr. Brian also lacked professionalism, as he texted me after surgery to ask about my son and then was flirting with me. NOT OK, especially since I never gave him my number.

Highly recommend! My toddler has autism, level 3, is non-verbal and has many sensory challenges/aversions which include not liking his face and head being touched at all. We saw Dr. Lotus and were brought back by Alina, both were wonderful. So much patience and understanding, no rushing no pressure. So thankful for this experience!

Everyone is really nice, I will start with this, most of the people there are super kind, especially the nurses and our doctor. It is just annoying because your appointment time means nothing. Expect that they will be taking care of multiple other patients and leaving you to wait for 30 minutes at a time between each step of the appointment. Why not schedule your patients so that you can take care of them in a timely manner? Or at least give an estimate of how LONG the appointment will be. Never experienced this at any of the other specialists we have been to. Just want to warn anyone who has any type of exam with them, plan accordingly, especially if you are like us and have to drive an hour in rush traffic to get there or have a medically complex kiddo with multiple appointments a day.

I really appreciated the doctors attention to my daughter and the time she took to explain the process of the surgery. However, I was disappointed in the disfunction of the way the front office is handled. They over book patients and the wait to see the doctor is horrible. They call back to the room ask a couple questions then send you back to lobby because the doctor is seeing two patients in front of you. They need to focus on quality not quantity when it comes to patients.

Amazing staff and an amazing doctor! I truly appreciated the time they spent with us and how they made sure all our questions were answered. Dr. Lotus was especially wonderful, she explained everything thoroughly, made sure my son was comfortable, and even made the visit fun for him. He had such a great time with her, which made the whole experience even better!

The fabulous Dr. Rasha Our child had been suffering from severe vision issues and slowly developed strabismus. He was first operated on by a doctor whom we implicitly trusted in Minnesota. When the time came for us to follow up with his strabismus surgery, his exceptional eye doctor- Dr. Sarah Downes, was nowhere to be found. I felt very uneasy trusting a surgeon whom I did not know. My husband and I dealt with a variety of doctors in Minnesota, at some of the finest institutions, such as the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota. Unfortunately, my son was not getting any younger, and his vision was steadily becoming more of an issue. Through the grace of God, we found ABC Children's Eye Specialists. They have half a dozen exceptional specialists who only work on children. They are accustomed to the many questions and concerns that parents and children have when facing surgery. Then, we met the eye magician- Dr. Rasha! . Dr. Rasha saw our son and we were pleased to find out that our wait had worked in our favor, as his age was now, the perfect age for this type of surgery. She discovered that he needed to have both eyes recentered on the x and y planes. This was certainly more than we had anticipated. After discussing it with our son, he desired to have the surgery performed. We chose to trust Dr.Rasha, as she had a very calm and fabulous bedside demeanor. Dr. Rasha is the type of physician who will lose sleep if a patient misses a post-operative appointment. The outpatient center that they used was profesional and they were efficient, as well as kind and gentle. Our son was home a few hours after his surgery. At our post-operative appointment, Dr. Rasha; her assistant, Leslie; her scribe, and the student's scribe were all professional, empathetic, and caring, and addressed our concerns. My son wanted to thank Dr.Rasha, for his "new eyes." I am grateful and amazed at the drastic improvement. I am thankful that we have a physician such as Dr. Rasha.

This place was amazing. The staff was great. The doctor was so good with my overactive daughter. Warm, friendly, knowledgeable all that you would expect from a doctor with many many years of experience and children of his own.

Dr Nick and his team are amazing! Super patient with my kids every time I come, helps them understand what needs to be done to help their eyes and gives wonderful rewards! Highly knowledgeable and down to earth!
