Costco Optical Department

I got my glasses here and it was great. Price was great and people were great. I am leaving 2 stars because of a Costco manager I ran into when I was here getting glasses which is usually a GREAT EXPERIENCE. While paying for glasses a female manager came over to check register. She had a Costco vest that had a patch that said "Do Not Touch Me." It was very weird and I'm disappointed Costco allows her to wear that on vest. She was cold to the people working in the optical department. She didn't say hi it make eye contact with anyone. She was a typical manager who didn't seem to care much about her people. I could be wrong but just my gut feeling. I asked one of the employees what's up with her best and he kinda just shrugged as if he was scared to answer. Really really weird experience.

Bob was a wonderful help and a pleasure to deal with. The ladies I interacted with were a bit on the crabby side. But a breath of fresh air when I asked him for some assistance. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. He saved my opinion of Costco Optical. Thank you Bob.

Walked in asking to make an appointment. Person at the front counter said that it would be a moment because they were typing something up for the optometrist and they also had a call on the line. I sat outside and waited. When they were done they didn't even acknowledge me. Sat there and kept doing something. At least make my appointment and then continue doing what you're doing.

This morning, 03/19/25, I came in a good mood, ready to pick up our glasses. However, the employee named Holly was very rude and almost got into an argument with me. Most likely, this happened because we spoke English with an accent, as she did not behave that way with other customers. I have been ordering glasses for my whole family from this place for more than five years, but after such treatment, I will avoid her every time I see her to prevent any contact and not ruin my mood.

I went to the Costco Optical and worked with Trish. She was awesome! I had to get contacts for my three kids using two different Insurance plans. She was friendly and very helpful comparing both insurance plans to give me the best deal. I was dreading going there knowing that it would be complicated with insurance for three people, but Trish made it very easy to get these contacts and dealing with the gauntlet of insurance stuff.

Trish was absolutely amazing! She was kind, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable. When my son's glasses broke, he was worried about being without them while they were being repaired. Trish took care of it on the spot, quickly and hassle-free. Her excellent service and willingness to help made all the difference. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed meeting my doctor and he was generous with his time for the money I spent. He was from Thailand originally, and I think his name was DeMille. Anyway, the experience with him was fine but the glasses turned out horrible. And. the difficult woman in the Doctor's office made me want to never do business with them again because they make no time available to solve existing problems-- you have to start at the beginning and wait for an appointment (even though it only took ten minutes for the prescription.) The old glasses I had were SO MUCH better than the vision that I have from these new glasses. There's only one tiny spot that I can see properly from with the new glasses, and I have to tilt my head to a funny position in order to see properly for reading and so forth. Quite unacceptable! When I called the optical department, they suggested that I have the doctor check the prescription again and I called to arrange that. The receptionist would not allow me to see the Doctor for more than a week. I'm not seeing properly and it's dangerous for me even to drive over there, as my old glasses fell apart and I have to rely on what Costco sold me. While I believe that most products and services from Costco are great, I would NOT rely on this particular office for quality optical work. They are not as committed to customer service as Costco is in general. I would strongly recommend that you visit another Costco optical, or even the WalMart Vision Center, in the Phoenix area. This one is a risk for your vision.

I went to this vision center because they had a contact lens exam appointment, I usually go to PV. Optician was fine ordered my lenses since they weren't in stock, was told about a week to 10 days. I called every week told they weren't in yet. After 3 weeks called again, told by the manager she would check and call me back later. She never called. Called the next day told a mistake was made no order was placed. No offer to expedite or anything would have wait again. I asked for a refund, and went elsewhere. Unfortunately, this is an example of how employees misinform customers they don't care about. To be lied to for 3 weeks and then no offer to make it right? Really? quiet quitting has come to Costco and I'm a customer for 30+ years such a disappointment!
