Eye Doctors of Arizona - Shea Park

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Dr. Ben Heller's office and the Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center. My husband and I drove 21/2 hours for my scheduled surgery, only to be told upon arrival that it had been canceled. I received no phone call, voicemail, email, or any form of notification beforehand. The staff at the surgery center informed me it was canceled due to the office not having "Mitomycin" in stock. When I called the office, the scheduler, Raina, stated that the surgery had been scheduled "too early" and that they did not have the necessary medication available. This raises serious concerns. Why was I scheduled in the first place if the required medication had not been confirmed? Proper coordination and communication are basic expectations when it comes to surgical procedures. To make matters worse, my prescribed eye drops were never sent to my pharmacy as promised. I had to follow up myself for them to be sent. This reflects a concerning lack of organization and follow-through. This is now the second doctor's office I've tried, and I placed my trust in this team to handle my care professionally. Instead, I experienced poor communication, lack of preparation, and complete disregard for my time and travel. After this experience, I chose to cancel everything and will not be moving forward with this office. I sincerely hope that I receive a full refund for the surgery deposit. Patients deserve better communication, preparation, and respect especially when it involves surgery.

Went in for review of my cateracts and Dr. Matthew Heller did exam.Eyes considered healthy and we set up a date for surgery. All went well and everyone was very cordial. Very happy with my first visit and hope all goes well from here on. Looking forward to seeing better.

In this day and age where civility and kindness is something that seems to have gone by the wayside this office and everyone in it are exceptional humans. From Kimberly who I spoke to when I made my initial appointment to every person I had an interaction with in the office, I feel bad because I don't remember every one's names, they were so kind, nice, funny and professional. I had to have a YAG procedure in both eyes and both went smoothly and totally pain and anxiety free. Thanks to everyone, especially the sweet woman at the front desk and Dr Ben's ( who is a rockstar doc by the way) assistant. So sorry my memory for names is bad.

Great staff great service! All the staff very attentive to my needs and concerns and willing to help in any way they could. Dr did a great job on my eyes and everything is fine. The whole office staff is cohesive and everyone works together for the patient, that is what makes a good experience for the patient! My thanks to all at Eye Doctors of AZ - Shea Park

All I really need to say is "Carolina!!" I have brought my mom in law here twice now for cataract surgery and had the pleasure of seeing Carolina both times. She is professional, educated at her job, kind, caring and shows amazing customer service. You should be extremely proud of her as a representation of your business. To have people showing up that may be a bit scared or nervous and get to start with Carolina is a great business decision. The world could use more people like her that show care and that do a great job. You are blessed to have her and I hope that you treat her as well as she treats your patients. Keep it up Carolina. I am a glaucoma patient and recently had a wonderful experience at Eye Doctors of Arizona. From the moment I arrived, the friendly receptionist made me feel welcome and even offered coffee and water. My wait time was very short, and soon the doctor's assistant escorted me to the exam room for preliminary eye tests, including visual fields and photographs of the interior of my eyes. The doctor was kind, gentle, and took his time with a thorough and unhurried exam. He explained my glaucoma clearly and answered all my questions. I left the office feeling reassured, well cared for, and confident in the doctor's expertise.

My healing process is going well. Thanks to the professional and surgical care provided by all from beginning to end. My observations; The staff was effective in serving multiple clients. They were also warm, knowledgeable and helpful. The location of the office was easy to find. The medical and surgical facilities were clean and well appointed. Family members enjoyed the refreshments. And I appreciated the cleanliness of your restroom. Without hesitation I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking superior eye care in the future. this place was amazing, everything was great to all personal, Dr and the place was very clean and the guy who do our paper work after our appt. was just so awesome and made our 2hr drive back more enjoyable. thank you so much.
