Griego Family Eyecare

I first met Dr Griego and was very happy with her services. When I needed to go back, I could not remember her name, so I went somewhere else and was dissatisfied. I found her again recently and once again I am very happy with her services. Great office and eye care!

I have been going to Griego Eye Care for over 5 years and they are always consistent in their friendliness and service! You can tell Dr Griego carefully picked her staff due to their amazing customer service and excellence for attention to detail - Cindy, Liz, and Chris are my favorite part of going to get my eyes checked. I love picking out my glasses with them and hearing the benefits my insurance has to offer. They are always the first to let me know about rebates or warranties they are so fairly priced. I love it here and will continue to go here for years to come!

Fantastic customer service and care! Dr. Griego is very personable and friendly. She is more than willing to explain what is going on with your vision and also able to help with suggestions for care. The office is clean and they have a good selection of glasses and sun glasses. They also have a once a Saturday hours which is perfect for students and professionals that work during the week. Call ahead for info.

Recently my vision was getting "bad". I haven't had an eye exam in years due to having lasik in 2014. I contacted a place I went to many years ago but they were 2 months out for an exam which didn't seem right. I looked at my insurance provider and Griego Family Eyecare was shown as a participating doctor in my plan. I went to google reviews to see what people had to say but there weren't many. I arrived on time for my exam and was surprised to see that it wasn't packed like other offices which gave me a sense of the doctor wanting patient care over volume with high maximum revenue. I was very pleased with the entire staff and we even joked around a bit too. I thought I had mentioned I wanted to get contacts if needed but I forgot or they didn't hear me, whatever. I mentioned it when I was checking out and they whisked me back for a couple quick exams and got me fitted in minutes for contacts. I haven't worn contacts since 2014 so my eyes are back to adjusting to them again and vision is better but not perfect right now (1 hour after appt). I have confidence it will vastly improve as the day goes on and my eyes get used to the contacts. To be honest i hate doctors and cringe at going to see them but, I have found a new eye doctor that is great along with a caring and fun office staff. Not only that I have zero issues or hang ups with going back in there. I saw other reviews talking bad about the staff, let's be honest we're human and we can have off or bad days for whatever reason is going on in our life at the time. In summary if you're looking for a doctor who actually cares about the patient and a fun and welcoming staff don't bother with calling the big clinics who treat you like cattle, give this practice a call to setup an appointment. As a small business owner myself I have come to realize that small business are the lifeblood of our country and we're helping to fill someone's dreams and provide for their family. I'd expect to pay more going to a small business but the prices here for everything are in line with the online places and competitive against the big box stores. Just call and get in there. You won't regret it.

The staff here are wonderful. My 3 year old went in for an eye exam. The doctor couldn't get her to verbalize her needs during the exam, but she kept trying new things till she could get an accurate reading. My daughter needed a prescription in the end. They were very helpful. The building is difficult to find the first time. Its very easy to miss. Grey building tucked back behind another building.

See below for new note, changed from 4 stars to 2 Jan-2020. In Dec. 2019 I went for an eye check up and needed frames too. They had a nice selection of frames and had them arranged easily to know which were covered by my insurance. I also had a blood vessel burst a day prior and Dr Griego looked at my eye and confirmed that it wasn't infected, just a bursted blood vessel. She also knew that I had allergies without me telling her that I had them & was irritated from pet dander. I just picked up my new glasses & I am pleased with the outcome! Thanks Dr Griego Jan 2020 Called to find out my prescription for my glasses to get a box of contacts from Hubble for a $1 and since I didn't order contacts and pay the either $25-30 to get them fit they wouldn't tell them what my script was for just basic contacts , just my lens script. Which is just fine, I can figure it out on my own. I simply wanted a hell of a deal from Hubble on line. Which is a box of contacts for $1! I just wanted them to have to wear once in while when I didn't want to wear my glasses. I received a 'you didn't get contacts from us so we faxed them to not fill it', never calling me, not caring why it was even sent in the first place. So my opinion has changed. Yes I understand that I have a stigmatism in my right eye, yes I get that I didn't order contacts from your business. But give a person a lil sway here, a buck?? I've worn contacts for many years prior to walking in their door. I mean maybe offer me something, ask if I'd like to be fit for them. Don't give me grief because I want a good deal that you can't even approach. Maybe even ask if I've worn contacts before. I simply forgot go ask for my new prescription of my lenses in my glasses after my appointment. I will contact Hubble and have them call my older Eye Dr. They are still open but it's quite a ways away from me and I don't think they will be nasty about it. I truly did like Dr Griego, not the woman (almost slipped and called her a lady) I just spoke to. I am pretty sure I will not be giving my business to a company that is simply greedy and to not even ask me any questions, just ' Do not fill'. Well you can put on a form 'will not be coming back'.

Dr. Griego is great, but the issue is with front staff. One afternoon my daughter and I arrived to pick up her glasses that we ordered and paid for 2 weeks prior. As we were walking up, the woman working behind the desk was walking out the door and greeted us with, "I just clocked out because it's lunchtime and we are closed from 12-1. It's advertised." (Btw it's not advertised when you look them up on google search - it showed open, until...) We arrived at 11:58, and reasonably could have been given her glasses and left within the amount of time she chose to justify the poor customer service. I am a working mother, juggling kids at home and a demanding 40 hr work week. It's not that easy to arrive during their work hours, because it's also mine as well. I'm not expecting red carpet service, just a common sense approach. (Something along the lines of, "oh hey.. glad you caught me... I was just heading to lunch... let me grab those for you real quick before I go...) To be turned away because she can't walk back inside and hand them to me, without being on the clock, is ridiculous. I hate leaving reviews, but this was beyond unacceptable IMHO.

I have been avoiding the eye Dr. for years and finally went to Dr. Griego. Everything was easy and professionally handled in the office. They helped me find the right frame and my glasses came in ahead of time. I would recommend them to anyone in the area.
